FI hates photos

My FI hates photos, so talking about wedding photos is a big deal.  He doesn't see the point of having any photos.  None at all.  He keeps asking me if we need photos.  It doesn't help that I haven't found any photographers yet under $1000.  I feel like this is something that will cause some tension and I really don't know what to do.  We don't need a ridiculous amount of photos but I still want some of our special day.

I need some advice....

Tell him they are important to you. Tell him instead of prints you can get a dvd and put them on a digital picture frame...

I never even thought of a digital frame. That's a good idea.

Hey I'm in the same boat FI doesn't want photographer. I was thinking of using this husband and wife team. http://www.asimplevow.com/ From what I've read the husband does the ceremony and the wife offers to do pictures.  She offers small cheap packages but warns you that she is NOT a professional photographer. I haven't called yet, I will be doing that next month but I'm excited and hope they can help me.

I've had experience with them.  My friend used him for her officiant.  He was really nice.  The wife was trying to tell us what to do, instead of listening to the DJ for our cues on when to start walking.  We were all kind of annoyed with her, but that has nothing to do with her photography.  Just wanted to share.

I'm using A Simple Vow for my wedding! We have another photographer.

She does the ceremony coordinating, which is what I wanted. I'm excited for her to tell people when to move. I need those cues! ;)

I LOVE them! They are fantastic people. I don't know about the pictures, but I am so excited to have them as our officiant. They have a calendar on their Web page, so check that first. You can also view some of her photos on her facebook page for A Simple view. Good luck!

The only item I will not compromise on...my bouquet of all purple tulips wrapped in a swatch from my Mom's wedding dress.

I'm also using A Simple Vow for my officiating service but not for photography. Jeanie's photographs are good, but not pro quality (which she says outright).

pros close to your price range:

    ElleBee starts at 1200

Matthew Blassey was at 1250 when I inquired

    Caroline moore starts at 1200

Beth Insalaco started at $850 for 4hrs coverage when I inquired

Heather Martin Photography offers an al a carte option. Maybe you can buy a few hours and then buy the prints you want for less then $1000.  www.heathermartinphotography.com

She is doing our wedding for very reasonable price for 9 hours, books, engagement session etc. The al a carte might be perfect for you then you can get what you want and need and then your FI isn't upset about sending too much on something he doesn't care too much for. Also, I love her. She is so nice and easy to work with.

I agree to tell him it is important to you. We got discs of our photos and were able to print what we wanted. My friend Lauren starts at $600-$3200+.

    She did our engagement pics:

and some for our wedding (H's dad & stepmom did our other photos):

Plus my avatar & sig pic are Lauren's. She is awesome and a lot of fun:
