What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration?

I'm focusing right now on outfits for the rehearsal dinner, going away at the wedding, and honeymoon! I definitely want them to be vintage with a nice pair of t-strap heels. I have some ideas in my bio. Oh, and I'm purchasing my birdcage veil as soon as one of my shoe returns comes in!

What wedding-related project are you tackling this April?

I would like to work on my Save the Date. Our experience at Zazzle was very disappointing because I'd planned on ordering custom postcard save the dates and peacock stamps. I'm considering changing our idea or buying postcards elsewhere.

Tell us about/let us listen to your first dance song. Is it retro/vintage?

"Our Love is Here to Stay" by Gershwin and performed by Frank Sinatra. Definitely vintage but with beautiful lyrics and music. I used to dance ballroom professionally and it was important to me to find a suitable foxtrot.

What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration?

I'm getting pinup photography done as a gift for my fiance, so I'm pretty into the pinup look right now. I might try to get or make some retro dresses, either for the pictures or to wear during the honeymoon.

What wedding-related project are you tackling this April?

We started writing the ceremony and vows -- going slow, but at least we have an outline! I'm also going to try making feather fascinators for the bridesmaids -- I ordered a bunch of feathers in different purple tones from Etsy, but I'm not sure if they all go together well... wish me luck!

I wish we had a first dance song! I really wanted "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash, but it's a little fast, and my fiance thinks the horns are cheesy..

What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration?

Nothing new - spring break's over and the spring musical has begun. Plus the inspection on our house went badly, so we're starting that search over. My brain's elsewhere for the next couple of months.

What wedding-related project are you tackling this April?
Just finishing what I didn't get done over break. The cartoonist we contacted for our caricature logo suggested doing a custom Thin Man-like movie poster with a mat around it as our guest book. Just got the quote today and am deciding whether I want to make room for it in the budget.

"I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm"

We have the Dean Martin version on "Christmas With the Rat Pack," and it's been our song since our first Christmas together. It's actually originally from the late 30's, the same era as our wedding! And it's why we wanted a winter wedding.

What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration? No new ideas. No time.

What wedding-related project are you tackling this April? Well, this is my final month of planning so I've got a lot of last minute projects. I was off work today, and I was like a little wedding planning machine. I ordered our table numbers and gorgeous guestbook (details in bio) from two different Etsy shops. I finalized the escort cards and place cards and sent them to our calligrapher. I finished the floral order, signed off on the alcohol, ordered sugar cane swizzle sticks for our mojitos, and purchased my earrings. Whew. I still have a lot to do, but the list is smaller.

What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration? Nothing new really. We have 28 days until our wedding days so I'm trying to finalize all the details.

What wedding-related project are you tackling this April?We're trying to finish writing the ceremony with our officiant. I still need to work out the escort cards and guest book. We had to hire a new photographer(at the last minute)and we're getting engagements done on Tuesday so I need an outfit for that, Yesterday i met the florist to pull together the centerpieces and tablescapes(yay!). I feel like I have a million details to finalize but it's all coming together

What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration? I just got done with my cake-table letter decorations and decorating our toasting flutes (see bio) and now I'm working on our Guestbook. So I guess my last couple DIY projects are the latest.

What's your latest retro/vintage idea/inspiration? Lots of things going thru my head.

What wedding-related project are you tackling this April? Table Linens, Table Decor.

Tell us about/let us listen to your first dance song. Is it retro/vintage? Betcha By Golly Wow - Stylistics. It's somewhat retro. Its inspired by FI deceased Father and it fits us perfectly. Although we are just having a simple dinner in the Fellowship Hall at the Church so not sure how to work in our 1st dance but have a little bit of time to figure it out.

I'm having a mad tea party as part of my reception. So tea sandwiches, and tea/ hot chocolate (or cold chocolate). I love the idea of having things that Charles Dodgson himself might have liked so I'm doing a little more research on my favorite person (other than my fiance).
tackling: Getting back our response cards, and finishing our guest related things. Also trying to decided how to handle the "delicate" process of including our friends without seeming gift grabby, which seems to be something brought up a lot on these sites.
Our first dance/ song is going to be Tonight Tonight by the Smashing Pumpkins, and the video is kind of vintage (its based on a story called "From the Earth to the Moon" by the name of the author escapes me at the moment) which fits in with our Victorian Themed (mostly Alice's Adventures in Wonderland) wedding.

hmmm, probably old timey engagement photos! Matt and I are planning ours out now.

What wedding-related project are you tackling this April?
This month we're signing our catering and wedding contracts, and sending in our deposits for each. I'm so excited!
I also picked the ring bearer's outfit (check out inspiration photos in the attire section of my bio).
And I've started gathering some antique/vintage pieces for our DIY guest book and DIY cake stands (pictures in bio).

Calamity Jane with Doris Day. Not true to life, I know, but the costumes are breathtaking.

Still idea gathering. I have time yet.

Hopefully my fiance and I can take waltzing lessons and dance to a piece of music popular in the 1880s. It is hard to pick one!

My Fiance is deploying sooner than we thought so we are rushing to get all the planning done before he leaves.
