A bad week

Hi ladies,

Boy am I having a bad week. I've been trying to quit caffeine, because I think it's been partially to blame due to my skin looking like a thirteen year old's lately (the rest I think is stress, but oh well), and it's been giving me migraines and I feel like hell. Work is a nightmare, and will be pretty much between now and leaving for a couple of weeks for the wedding and honeymoon. We're collecting info for the rehearsal dinner for FILs and it's such a pain. And this weekend is my sister's wedding, and for a variety of reasons, it's NOT something that I'm overjoyed or excited about and instead just wish it was over.

Sigh.

This morning in the radio, the Green Day song "Wake Me Up When September Ends" came on. I said, "Story of my life!" Just ready for this last crunch and stress time to be over.

Anyone else having a "wake me up when September ends" kind of week?

Re: A bad week

  • Yes! yesterday I said to someone I can't wait for this to be over, and she was like WHAT? and I said I mean I'm just ready for the day to be here! LOL oops
  • I have said that a few times and it seems to amaze people.  Just when I feel like I have everything done and under control, something pops up!  I thought I was doing something simple today by making an appointment for manicures and pedicures for the WP at a local salon.  They wanted to know what kind of polish the girls would want (regular or shellac)....really?  Do you really need to know that in advance?  What differences does it make?  We have booked out the whole salon, I've done both, there is really very little time difference in application.  UGH.  Yup, ready for October.

AGREE! I thought I had a good handle on EVERYTHING minus the seating chart...but no. Things always keep popping up.  Today is my day to hammer them down. haha
  • I so feel that way... all of my vendors want to push finalizing everything until the last week and I am DIYing things that must be done that week right before we leave to go out of town for the wedding. I can feel the pressure building and I just want things done. On top of that I have been waiting forever for my wedding band and when I finally got it ... it did not fit against my engagment ring correctly and now both of them are back at the jewler. Oct 12th can not get here soon enough... at this point I just want to go on the honeymoon where I won't have to do anything other then relax and soak up the sun. I was doing ok until this week and now I have freaked out twice and started crying. Hopefully things will start pulling together and get easier.

I said this exact same thing this morning. I'm ready for the day to be here and I want this planning to be OVER!

  • I think I'm in the opposite mode...I am at the point of just showing up to stuff and enjoying the last few days of the process. I am a class A nerd (I'm pretty sure I still have a couple of Nerd Herd certificates stuffed on in scrapbooks somewhere...) and really just thrive on watching the planning coming in to fruition. With the other things on our plate right now, I am glad the wedding isn't something I have to do or worry over right now if that makes sense. I hope the stress everyone is feeling breaks to a huge sigh of relief! Oh and OP = giving up caffeine really messes with everyone, I think! Hang in there, you really will feel better soon!

  • Yes!  That is the perfect song lol.  I have been trying very hard not to say "I'll just be glad when this is over", because I know this is my one shot to plan my wedding, but lately, with everything I have left to do, I can't help but wish it was October 20th!

  • I'm sorry you're having a bad week. Chug water! Might help with the migraines and your skin. I've kind of shut down on the whole planning thing until I get a better picture of our RSVPs. So many DIYs still to do and I wish it would just be October and they would be done. But I am cheap and won't outsource them. My DOC is being sooo patient with me. She keeps reminding me to hand over info to her so she can takeover and I couldn't even look at anything wedding-related until yesterday.

To reverse my mood, I just think about how fast this whole year has gone and how I need to savor each moment since I now have less than 40 days! Good luck! Hope next week will be better!

  • Sorry you're having a bad week.  Mine was last week.  I was even telling my mom I wish we would've eloped and used the money for our house.  I agree with PP, drink lots and lots of water, it'll clear your skin up.  Just keep your eye on the prize--marrying the man of your dreams!!

  • While reading the posts it made me think of bop a mole, you hit one thing down and another pops up!
