Long dress vs shorter length dress...thoughts?

I am truly torn on this issue. I like both. Just curious if maybe y'all might have any insight into the topic. TIA.

I personally like longer dresses better... a short dress just seems like a party dress to me. Where as a long dress is more bridal. I do like the idea of a shorter dress for the reception, with a traditional dress for the ceremony though!

How formal is your wedding? What time of the year is it? Indoor or outdoor? I agree with megan that it feels more like a party dress when it's short, but that's just because I've always dreamed of that big fancy wedding dress. Also, what length are your BMs having?

The wedding is in the summer. And It isn't going to be a formal affair. Maybe that is what I like about the short dress. It delivers a more "fun" feeling. But I love the long dress too because they are just the stereotypical dress one would wear. And what the bridesmaids are wearing? No idea. Hopefully, clothes:)  but what exactly has not been decided. Probably short just because it will be july.

I seriously considered a shorter dress too, but after I tried one on, I realized it wasn't right for me. Plus, with a February wedding, I didn't want to freeze! But with a summer wedding, I think it would be super cute to have a short dress. It's totally up to you and what style wedding you're having. The short dresses are really nice these days.  Try some out and see what you think! Good luck!

I like long dresses because of the lovely beading on the trains. It kind of depends on your style and how formal the event will be. Indoors or outdoors...

I plan on having both: long dress for ceremony and beginning of reception.  Short, sexier dress for the rest of reception.

I would want to have a long dress I want to feel like a princess the whole day! Short dresses can be cute, but in photographs the long dresses look so elegant.
