I have to admit, wording it not my strong suit, so I really appreciate any advice offered! My fiance is English and I'm American, and we have decided to hold the wedding in America. We will be inviting all of his extended family to the ceremony and reception in the States, but we will also be holding a reception in the UK at a later date.
We want to include a small card in the invitation that says something along the lines of, "For our friends and family in the UK, we will be holding a casual reception in England at a later date, for those whom traveling is not an option or is inconvenient."
We basically don't want people to feel obligated to fly out here for our wedding, and we don't want them to feel as if they are missing out if they don't. However, we also want them to feel very welcome to come to the States for the wedding too, if it's not too inconvenient for them. Also, we do not have a date set yet for the reception in the UK, so I guess something like "details to follow" should be included, and maybe something on the RSVP form to indicate UK reception attendance?
I don't know. I know it's just a little detail but I really don't know how to make it sound right. Thanks so much in advance for your help!
