Centerpiece Opinions Needed

I've been working on our centerpieces and this weekend I did the first version. I need help deciding between the two vases. I like them both, but am leaning toward one and would love your input. This is just a rough draft, and I would appreciate your suggestions to make this better. The idea (and I need more practice) would be that the roses would be more rounded, more like a ball sitting on top of the vase. Also, do you guys think that the pink linens (a fleece blanket in this case) and the pink flowers are going to be too much pink?

Ok, thanks in advance for your thought!

It might just be my computer, but I can't see either of the pictures... just boxes with the dreaded red x.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. Here's another try. Let's hope this works!

Have you thought of maybe doing a some tables with the taller vase and others with the shorter vase? And, just my opinion, to get that "ball" effect you're wanting, it may be a good idea to get a slimmer vase for the tall one. That way it'll hold the roses closer together. It's beautiful with all the pink though...I do not think there is too much. Your candles are beautiful as well!

I like the second one better.. the first one seems a little taller and looks like it might be right in the way of people talking

Since I like them both, I like the idea of alternating tables.

It may just be me... but I think it may be too much pink with the flowers, petals, ribbons on votives, and linens.  But that is simply personal preference.  I love the roses, they are beautiful, and I prefer the 2nd vase.  I think you should be able to pack them in tighter, then hide stems with votives and maybe some ribbon.  What are your other colors?  A different color linen (black? white? white with a black or alternate color runner) would make the flowers really pop.  I love the idea of the different votives!

I thought about the taller vase being eye level, but I checked that out and it's slightly below and should be fine. For some reason I didn't think about doing both vases. It seems so obvious to do that! Amber, the plan is to have the roses packed in tighter. But for the trial I just got 2 dozen to see what I was working with! I thought about doing another color linen, but I've spent so much time and money finding the black beaded placemats that the vase is sitting on. If we went with a black linen then the black placemat wouldn't show! I'm afraid that white would be so boring. What about putting a black ribbon around the vase to break up some of the pink?

I think all the pink looks pretty, but then again, I really like pink. But I think a black ribbon on the vases would be really nice and polished-looking.

    1. I like the height of the first vase and the shape of the second. I like the idea of alternating heights, but I'd keep them the same shape

    2. Definitely add the ribbon

    3. I don't think it is too much pink!

    4. CUTE CUTE CUTE votives. They look really nice!

I like them both and like the idea of alternating, but for the shorter one, I wouldn't do the petals.  Seems like too much going on.  Love the votives.  Definitely add the black ribbon on the vases.

For my centerpieces, I didn't want the stems to show so my florist wound tea leaf around the inside of the vases to hide the stems.  I like the look you are going for and think it will be pretty.

I think it's beautiful with all the pink, and love the idea of alternating the tables so there's some interest going on at different heights across the room.  Very pretty DIY!

I like those beaded place mats and adding black ribbon will be a good way to break up your pink.  I also like Stephanie's idea about the tea leaves to hide the stems.  And again... I really love the votives.  GL!

Thank you so much for all the ideas and compliments! I was worried that the different votives would be too much going on, but it is so great to hear that it's not. I haven't done any research to find tea leaves, but ideas on where to order them? Should they be real or fake you think?

I like them both, and probably can't add any more advice then what's already been given. I like the tea leaf around the stem idea and possibly doing the black around the votives to break up some of the pink.

To get the ball effect you need to tie the stems together just below the buds.

I'm not sure if tea leaves and bear grass are the same thing, but in the floral class I took, we used bear grass to do something simliar--see bio for pics
