Hello Ladies...

Quick question... Have any of you bought from Etsy? I was looking at getting a personalized guitar pick for my brother, and I have never ordered from there... Anyone have any clue? TIA!

The quality of service totally depends on the seller. We used an etsy seller for our BM dresses, and they came out great. Here's a photo with all three of them (farthest on the left, and 2 closest on the right).

A couple of times the seller was less-than-super-quick in responding to email, but for the most part she did pretty well. If you are the kind of person who gets panicky when people don't email right away, etsy can be kind of frustrating. But almost always in the end things work out.

I bought my hair comb on etsy... it came fast and looks awesome! I do think PP is right, it depends on the seller. But I wouldn't be wary to buy again :o)

Just look for a seller with good reviews.  Also, don't be afraid to ask for a little personalization or a bulk deal.  We asked for and got a reduced price for the personalized beach towels we ordered since we ordered so many.  Also, the person who made my hair flower changed out a rhinestone for AB crystals at my request.

I love that I can support individual people selling their crafts on etsy, and wouldn't be afraid to buy from a well-reviewed seller on there again.

I've ordered a few things from there and so far so good.  Since you're dealing with individuals from all over it's kind of a crap shoot if you pick a good or bad one.  Like the others said, check the ratings.  You can also send the sellers messages before you ever buy anything at all.  I did that.  Their responsiveness made me much more comfortable.

I did contact one seller when I saw a style of jewelry I liked but wanted differnt colors and specs.  She was more than happy to make a custom piece and reserve it for me and it turned out perfect.  Again, just talk to the people.  Anyone worth their salt will make you a priority.

Ditto Carrieoz - read the reviews on seller but even then it can be hit or miss.  Out of many things I bought from Etsy for the wedding, only 2 of them were bad and they both got resolved (one refunded and the other finally fixed the thing and has since stopped selling on Etsy).
