Save the Dates.....too late?

My wedding is at the end of July.  Do you think it's too late to send out STDs?

Re: Save the Dates.....too late?

  • Yes at this point I don't think it is worth it.  You can just sent out your invites 10 weeks ahead of time if you want to.

  • our wedding is at the end of July and we sent our STDs out at the end of January, and even that was kind of late! I have heard 6-8 months is the appropriate timeframe for sending them out. I think at this point you should just stick with your invitations. As long as all of the VIPs (close family, best friends, people involved in the wedding) all know about the date now, it shouldn't be a problem to skip out on the STDs.
  • Agreed, its too late.  Id just send your invites out a little early!
  • Since we didnt get engaged until January we didnt have much time to send out STD's but we still did.  We just sent cute email ones that I found for free on pingg.com  That way they got them immediately.  Ours went out 5 months b4 the wedding date.  I really liked ours too.  :)  Its probabaly too late to order, print and mail though.

  • We already had ours made, and FI's dad just now mailed our guest list, so ours are going out this week. Yeah, it's late, but we got them super cheap from Vista Print, and we just want them out.
  • Mine came in a few days ago so they are going out this week. I'm in the same boat as cwaggoner, since we got ours so cheap we are using them.

  • I didn't do Save the Dates either since we got engaged in Dec, marrying in July. Personally, I think STD should be reserved for destination weddings, or if a lot of your guests are from out of town. But then again, I'm only inviting about 120 people, and the majority of them are local, the ones from out of town our families gave a heads up to.

  • I would agree its a bit late to do them.  I would save the money and just send out earlier invitations.

I agree that it is a little too late, but I am still sending them to my grandparents, parents, and WP just so they have something. My grandmother was complaining the other day that she has had a blank spot on her refrigerator just waiting for it, so I caved and ordered 20, but I was trying to get my VP order up past $70 so my Groupon wouldn't be wasted haha!
