When you order a steak or hamburger (this is obviously not for our vegetarian friends on here), how do you order it to be cooked?

I used to order medium well but over the last few years DH has gotten me eating medium. I have to admit, it tastes much better.

Medium well for the most part. I can eat it rarer and will order it that way depending on the restaurant.

If it's a steak definitely medium rare but if it is a hamburger I am more inclined to order Medium to medium well.

WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't eat meat if it has pink in it! I know, I know, the chefs hate when people order it well done, but honestly, I can't eat it otherwise!!!

I have learned that every restaurant does things differently, so I usually have a talk with them and just tell them I don't like it pink.

When I was a kid, it was always well well well done lol. I wanted almost jerky because I couldn't stand seeing anything even remotely pink in my beef.

Now, I order steaks medium. FI wishes I'd drop down to medium rare since that's how he likes it, and we almost always share a meal when we go out. When it comes to burgers, I still lean more to the well side. Typically I'll do a medium well. For some reason, the thought of rarer/pinker ground beef turns me off more than a steak the same way would.

Burger-medium or medium well. Steak-medium or medium rare, like PPs said, depending on the restaurant.
