Delegating DIY's Really Does Help!

So like many of us, I've been completely swamped. So many of my DIY's have gone down the drain because I don't have time. I didn't want to give these two up, so my bridesmaid offered to help me. She's an artist, so it was a natural fit. I gave her all the supplies and in one night she had it all done! Below are my Thank You sign to take pics for the TY cards and my aisle runner! She still has to add our date, but you can imagine it. :) So happy!

  • Yay!  I'm glad she was aable to make things a little easier for you!  They look great!
  • That's great! I have a tough time letting things go and I also feel bad asking others to help.  Glad you were able to do this.
  • The aisle runner looks great!!!
  • Delegating is so difficult for a control freak like me, but I finally broke down and asked my MOH (who keeps offering to help with DIY stuff) to make poms to hang around the covered garden area for our appetizer/cocktail hour.  She's genius--she actually made some poms for her sister's baby shower that we're going to reuse for the wedding, so she only has to make a few more.  Yay delegating!

Your aisle runner and thank you sign are beautiful!!

Oh believe me, I'm SO there with you. It's really hard. I feel like the only way it will get done right is if I do it. Often I'm right. At this point, though, you have to accept that it doesn't have to be 100% your way. It can be slightly different and still perfectly fine. It's either that or no sleep from now until the wedding. I kind of like sleeping...
  • They look great!  Congrat's!!

  • I know what you mean about trying to do everything yourself. At least I find that wtih my fiance haha.  He asks what he needs to do cause he knows i'm stressed but then he asks 20 questions about how to do it and then does it wrong anyways. The girls (my 2 sisters that are bridesmaides) are all from out of town but my sister is really crafty (they did a great job on the bridal shower) so they are helping me at the last minute with making pew bows (another lady that got married at my church gave me the tulle hangers she already made so that helps) just change the bow. I also have to do all the hotel bags, signs fo guest book, cookie table, and programs/menus to do myself. I had some lady online design 5 monograms for us with our info and colors for $25. she gave us each high res image and the transparent one.  So i have been using those for everything and trying to match font color and found the fonts used from my ordered invitations to re-use. The formatting has become a pain though but at this point not worth going to staples to do it.   My dad said he would help me get some containers for the cookie table and food for the hotel bags at costco so that helps too.  will be a lot of last minute stuff the week beofre the wedding haha.
