Classical Music Ensembles Help

Hi,all-

We're getting married next November, indoor church ceremony, and I'm trying to decide between a string trio or a harp, flute, cello trio. Does anyone have any insight into which would be the better choice?

Thanks!

The sound of a Harp, Flute and Cello trio almost has a celtic feel. If that's what you're going for, I'd pick that. Otherwise, I'd go with the string trio.

I think its really a personal preference. I personally dislike the sound of strings, but I love brass and organ. (Maybe I'm biased because I play Tuba)
If you want something that can be played softly under vows/reading passages, Brass is not the way to go. My best suggestion to help you narrow down your search Is to youtube some songs that you like or ask your prospective performers about their repertoire and go from there. Also be sure to ask your church if they have any limitations of music/composers, some composers are "blacklisted" because of their attitudes towards certain religions.  Hope this helps a little! =)
