Best weather location for a honeymoon first week in August?

Hello all,

Getting ready to book our honeymoon for the first week in August and very undecided as to where to travel to! Checked out a travel agent and was told there aren't many warm destinations that aren't rainy that time of the year :( She suggested Las Vegas.. Any other suggestions?? We don't mind the idea of a Vegas HM.. We were just hoping for the beach ;)

  • I am up in Northern Canada so all of these suggestions are great! Thank you!

[QUOTE]What is your budget? Do you want to stay in the US or are you willing to travel internationally? Since August is hurricane season, I would recommend one of the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, or Curacao) as they are outside of the hurricane belt. However, there are a ton of other places to visit within the Caribbean. While it might rain for a bit each day, it will still be warm. Just make sure to obtain travel insurance in case something happens weather-wise. Within the US for a beach location, I would suggest Hawaii, San Diego/Southern California, and Miami/Key West.

I agree about the ABC(S), August is tough bc you really dont want rain on majority of your honeymoon. West Coast and and HI good too but I would strongly advise staying away from FL during August, been to Miami many times in August and got 80% rain.

  • What about the gulf coast of Florida?  Storms don't generally become a problem there until the 3rd or 4th week of August, sometimes later (if at all).
