I hate my neighbors [UPDATED]

So I had to close tonight at work so when I got home I let my dogs out and went inside like I normally do. Well I go to let them back in and Maddie is gone. Why, you ask? Because my neighbor decided to mow our yard today for whatever reason and left our gate open. Maddie is very difficult to get back inside because she likes to run - she has lots of room to run in our yard but that's nothing compared to being outside of the fence.

Well while on her little adventure she did something to her leg - I don't know what and I'm watching her trying to decide if I need to call the e-vet or wait until the morning to take her in.

So basically I'm not going to get any sleep tonight because my neighbor sucks. Eff you guy, eff you!

Wow. That sucks, I'm sorry you have to deal with sucky neighbors. I have neighbors that walk through the halls of my apartment complex drunk at 4 AM at least 3 times a week. They drive me crazy! I hope your dog is okay but if her leg is just hurt but not bleeding I would just wait until the morning to take her in.

Definitely not bleeding and she's laying comfortably right now and sleeping so it might be safe for me to try to get some sleep too. I really hope it's nothing serious and she just sprained it or something.

I know it's morning now (here in MI) but as long as she isn't bleeding and sleeping comfortable I'd wait until the morning to take her in. I hope she's ok!

One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone attempts to do something nice but actually makes the situation worse. You sort of feel like a tool b/c they did a nice thing but at the same time if they'd just minded their own business things would be fine. Gah! *healthy puppy vibes for you*

Ugh button I know! I mean I appreciate that they mowed our yard but everyone knows we have dogs and besides that why would you just leave the gate open?

Anyway she was putting some weight on it this morning but when I let her outside instead of walking down the steps of the deck she jumped and reaggravated it so we're back to where we were this morning : /

Awww... I am totally with you and Button on someone doing something nice but it ends up making things worse thing! BF does this to me sometimes... Grrr!

Sapphire- If you can keep her still, try wrapping a heating pad in a towel or shirt and putting it on her leg for awhile. We did that with BF's dog and she LOVED IT...plus it helps her muscle.

So I just got back from the vet and it turns out that her hip is out of socket. I feel absolutely awful for not calling last night. I really didn't think it was that bad. From what I understand they're going to put a pin in her leg to get it back in joint and hold it there. If that fails she'll have to get surgery to fix it and I really hope it doesn't come down to that : (

Oh no that's so sad! I'm sorry that happened to her. I hope they can get it fixed with just the pin and she feels better soon!

Don't beat yourself up over it either. Sometimes it can be so hard to tell with animals whether they are hurt or not.
