Shoes Score!

Just found some Angela Nuran shoes online for $50!!  I've heard great things about them being really comfortable, they were designed by a dancer.  Haven't seen them for less than ~$130, so I'm pretty excited.  They are 3.5 inch heels, though, I'm a little scared. lol  The highest I usually wear is about 2.5, if that.  (I'm a teacher..heh) So hopefully I'll be able to walk in them.  If not, I guess I'll try to find the 2.5 inch ones on sale and sell the 3.5 inch ones.  What is everyone wearing as far as shoes go?

Re: Shoes Score!

  • Right now I think these will be my shoes:

I have had a terrible time finding a pair that fit, look cute, and are marginally comfortable. I had to try a different style on in the size I wanted and then order these online though so I'm not positive they will work.

These are my back up plan:

  • Oh, I like both of those!  I'm really hoping mine are comfortable..I've never tried on a pair.  I'm just going to order them and hope for the best! It IS hard to find cute ones that are comfortable!

  • I fell in love with a pair of shoes online, then found out they were $350.  I LOVED these shoes, so when I found them on sale for $140, my FI actually had his credit card out to buy them for me, but I couldn't do it.  For my birthday last year, I got a $100 gift card to amazon as a gift.  I was cruising around, looking for something when I found the shoes ON SALE FOR $75.

Normally, no way am I paying $75 for anything (other than running shoes- cheaper than a membership to a gym), but it was a sign.  I got the shoes before I got the dress.

Conveniently, I learned as I was dress shopping that many dresses are cut length-wise for a 5'8 woman wearing a 3.5 inch heel.  I happen to be 5'8, the shoes happen to be 3.5 inches and guess who doesn't need her dress hemmed??

Long story- I say go for the shoes that make your heart sing and here's a pic.

  • Those are so cute!  And it's awesome that you found them on such a sale!  I didn't know that about dresses, how lucky are YOU?!  It's going to cost a fortune to get my dress hemmed and alterations done.  I'm 5'4 and even with the heels it's still going to be long.

  • These are what I really want, but they're $340 and I'm not sure if I can bring myself to do it. :(

OP, do you have a pic of your shoes? Glad that you found such a steal!

  • celtic, I love those blue shoes, are they Nina's? My friend had her bridesmaids get the same ones and got a great deal at something like famous footwear I think it was. I am considering getting those.... She said they are super comfortable!

npott, I LOVE those. They look glittery, or is it just a shimmer look? Where did you get them?

ejheart, I love the vintage look and the color is awesome!

I am still undecided. I had a pair of Bandolino nude peep toe pumps I wanted to wear since I know they are comfortable and I'm not very good at heels. FI is a bit taller than me so it would be nice not to look super short next to him! However, the dress is getting alterations now and I think once its pressed it will be a bit long and I'll need taller heels! We also might just try a poofier slip. Technically they call the dress fit-and-flare but it is more a-line so we can put a bigger slip on underneath!

I really want to be able to wear my comfy old bandolino's.... =D

  • I am normally a total cheepskate and buy my shoes for $20 or $25 on sale, but that's it lol I did splurge and spent $50 on my wedding shoes and I am head over heels in love with them. When I found them and said to FI I had but wasn't sure if I would buy them, he asked if I'd regret not buying them and look back thinking I should have.... that's what made me go for it.
  • ejheart- Those are so cool!  I've never seen any like them before!  Too bad they are so expensive.  Maybe some will go on sale online or something.  I'm liking all these blue shoes people are wearing!  I thought about maybe yellow shoes....my colors are eggplant, yellow, and gray.
Okay, here are the ones that are on sale for $50:

And here are the ones I'll probably get instead...they are more expensive, but they have a lower heel.  After thinking about it, I don't think I'd do very well in a 3.5 inch heel, and I don't want to be stumbling down the aisle!

  • Oooooh, love those red ones!!  Just saw them!  They definitely look worth the splurge! :)
P.S. Does my little ticker now say 2 MONTHS and something...???!!!  Omg...so much to do!!

  • I have two pairs!!!!  I bought the blue ones first since they are my wedding colors and just fantastic (and only about $50 which is a steal since I'll wear them again)!  Being comfortable in high heels isn't an issue for me since I wear high high heels all the time.  But, I was afraid of tripping down the asile or losing a shoe during the first dance so I got the silvers ones for practical purposes (and at Bloomingdales outlet only $12!!!).  I put on the blue ones after dinner for the reception.
