Reception venue on a tight budget! Need help

The place where we were planning to have our reception fell through, and we're getting married in 2 months. Does anyone have any ideas for inexpensive but nice ideas for the Houston area?

Not sure how many guests you are having but Bradys Landing has several ballrooms to choose from, the Gardens at 12001 Beamer is pretty inexpensive, there's also Kemah Gardens, Bridge Water Events in Baytown has a few openings in Feb and March (their calendar is available online) and Chateau Crystal has all inclusive packages, they have 2 ballrooms available.

Yeah, depending on how many people you are planning on having, Brady's Landing might still have something open.

The person who owns Chateau Crystale also has a place called Ashford Oaks that is less expensive.  It's located off of Wilcrest.  I'd also recommend The Gathering on Bissonnet.  If your menu doesn't include pork or beef, then you may also want to look into India House.  La Fontaine reception hall is nice too.

I am getting married in May and I'm also trying to find an inexpensive venue or even a nice hall that provides a lot of flexibility for us to provide our own catering options (my groom is African and we want to bring in our own traditional dishes) and a very late reception time (ending at 3 a.m.).  It's funny how I can provide recommendations here, but I can't find THE venue for my wedding..lol.

Either way, BEST WISHES to you!!!

I have booked with Chateau Crystal.  They are willing to work with you.  They even threw in a free chamange toast and a cake.  The offer a great menue of food options.  They even let you bring in your own alcohol.  Google them, they will have you come in on a night that they are doing an event to show you what the place will look like.

Depending on how many people you are having and since you are cutting it close email Katherine at Special Moments Venue see what they have available, oh they are having a Bridal Open House January 18th it's worth a try. They do great work and are very personable

I'm using Hacienda Bella also, but if you want a nice venue where you can DIY just about everything, I'd like to recommend my church (I almost got married here).  South Union Missionary Baptist Church - www.sumbc.org. Just call and ask to speak to Robert Swearington.  He'll help you out with the booking info.  They don't have many pics online, but the reception hall (across the street from the church) has it's own parking lot, has three beautiful chandeliers, tile floors, a professional kitchen, a huge bridal suite with its own entry, and nice tables and chairs.  Check it out!
