Park of Roses Wedding 2013

My fiance and I have finally agreed on a location for our May 2013 wedding. We are both crazy about the Whetstone Park of Roses. The beautiful gardens and background leaves you with minimal decoration for the actual ceremony and the shelterhouse they offer is spacious enough to hold our wedding of 120. I can find very little online about weddings held there so I was wondering if any of you fellow knotties have ever attended a wedding or have had your wedding/reception at this location. What was your experience like? Were you satisfied with how the event turned out? The idea of getting married outside makes me a wee bit nervous because knowing my luck, it will rain! :) Thanks for all your help! Any feed back will be MUCH appreciated.

    I was going to book there but we were told we HAD to book a year in advance on that day (May 4th) and so we didn't. It's gorgeous there :) Good Luck

    A friend was just married at the park of roses September 2012.  It was a beautiful wedding, with the ceremony outdoors and the reception in the shelterhouse.  The best part of this location for her, besides the beautiful backdrop that provides almost all the decorations you need, is the ability to bring in outside food and alcohol without being restricted to specific vendors.  This requires some coordination on your part: hiring a bartender, having placesetting and linens delivered and set up, but saved her a ton of money by buying alcohol at liquor store prices  and DIYing a lot of things.

    Thank you for your feed back. I called and got a little more information. I'm happy that I can purchase my own alcohol and just pay for a bartender. It's still expensive but I suppose weddings are lol I'd love if someone could post pics of a wedding that took place at the park. That would be awesome!

    Hello my fiancé and I are thinking about renting the Goodale park shelter house or the Whetstone shelter house. Does anyone have pictures to post of their wedding there or any advice? Thank you :)
