Ceremony Music - CHECK!

FI and I had a consultation witht organist and vocalist for our ceremony today! Because we're having the ceremony at Providence College's chapel, they have specific guidelines including musicians. Since we're having a Catholic ceremony, this works well for us especially since we didn't have to search for musicians.

We chose the music, psalms, and hymns that would be played for our ceremony as well as the processional and recessional. The vocalist has a beautiful voice and we were able to get a violinist as well, so we're both very happy! I also get to walk down the aisle to Pachebel's Canon (I don't like Here Comes the Bride) so I am completely satisfied!

And now, on to FI's tux appointment at 5!

Thanks ladies! We picked out a tux for FI and the rest of the groomsmen as well as our dads and the ushers (they were given the choice and wanted to do tuxes). However, the guy that helped us, as nice as he was, was wicked slow. It took almost an hour even though we basically had the tux picked out beforehand. At least we're registered and the guys can get measured now, though!

Are you a PC grad? I'm an alumna! Lived in Aquinas, Raymond, then 162 Eaton (big corner house on the corner of Eaton and Huxley...heard it's in terrible condition now). The chapel opened after I graduated, but a few friends have gotten married there. :) Father Cuddy is an old friend. We were Friars together. :)

goodine - That's really sweet! I wish my little sister played violin, it could have saved us a little money.

CvilleClaire - My fiance, Matt, is the PC alumnus! He graduated in 2009 (I went to Manhattanville in NY and graduated in 2010). I think that's so funny that you're a grad as well! What a small world. The chapel is gorgeous, it's built around their amazing organ (which I think is why the require an organist) and is minimalist which is just my style. Matt also lived in Aquinas and then on Radcliffe and Eaton his senior year. Some of those houses are pretty bad, but Matt thinks your old one recently got renovated and is very nice!

    BOYS in Aquinas Hall?  *faints*

Our house was beauitful when we lived in it, but I know the girls behind us were rough on it!  I graduated in '99. :)

We were all SO mad about the new chapel because it took the place of a beautiful grotto where we had outdoor masses. People studied and played there, too.  I loved that space!  We needed a larger chapel, of course.  10:30 PM mass in Aquinas was probably a fire hazard when I was there...but we loved it.  :)

They took some of the grotto rocks and made the wall that faces the chapel.

    Who is celebrating the mass?

The old grotto (the hill was flattened and that's where the chapel is now):

That grotto is beautiful! Now I kind of wish they had found a different spot for the chapel. And Aquinas is now "co-ed", in quotes because it's half and half. You can't even get into the other gender's side with the key card. So...it's a very Catholic co-ed and a pain when I was visiting him there.
