Retro and Vintage Weddings

Gloves? Yes or No?

I am thinking of wearing gloves.
I collect vintage and vintage style gloves wos I have alot to choose from.
I have white, light green, pale pink, gray and black ones.
White I have in wrist and mid forearm length and the other colors are all about mid forearm.
I think they look supercute scrunched down a bit towards the wrist.

It might be cool to wear non white gloves, so everything isnt too matched...

I am going to have the bridesmaids wear white wrist length gloves, I already have a few pairs so I dont have to buy those.

ANyone else considering gloves? What styles and colors?

Thanks!

  • the wedding theme color is deep red, like an apple.
i dont like everything to be too matchy matchy. so my bouquet is going to be various red and deep purples. the bm dresses are deep red and the moh dress is black. i am def using deep purples and oranges as other colors for decorations so it all goes together but isnt perfectly matched.
cenerpieces will all be different bc i am collecting vintage knick nacks and toys and tableware and jewelry.
i just kinda think white gloves will be too much with the white dress, wrap, shoes...i'm leaning towards a pair that are a light green. kind works w the location, a farm.
i have to post a pic when i find my camera :)

  • It sounds really cute.  I am not a big fan of super matchy things either, so I think a color would be nice.  Honestly, though, I would have to see a pic.

I am not going to wear gloves because I think with my dress, they will make my arms look short and stubby, but I think they can look really really cute and I am excited to see what you decide!
  • IMO I think long gloves would be too much with a wrap. But I do think those cute wrist legnth net gloves in red or pick would look soo cute.

  • ya i think long gloves would be too much with the jacket and too formal for a midafternooon affair.
the dress i have my eye on comes w a short sleeve bolero jacket so i def think wrist length gloves.
i will def post pics of the gloves i have so you guys can give me an opinion on which color works better ....just cant find my camera lol

  • hey ladies i found my camera so here are pics of the gloves I have that I am considering.

pale green gloves, have stiched gathering on the sides, look good when scrunched down a bit

pale pink, shorter length, have stiched flowers down the center

I am leaning towards the green ones, honestly :)

    thanks in advance!

  • update: I put the dress on layaway today at Davids! Its officially the one!
I am leaning towards the pale green more than the pink but i think both look good, so i will prob change my mind a hundred times before september lol.
If i do gloves, i will wear white or nude shoes. if i dont do gloves, i want to wear bright red shoes.
    decisions, decisions
    thanks for all the help!
