I got mine at Catan's in Strongsville.  They have a HUGE selection.  They are a good starting place b/c they have such a large selection.

i got mine from annabelle bridal in solon :) made an appointment with them and the service was GREAT! the two ladies working there were completely available to help me with anything i needed and gave their opinions on the dresses ranking them best to least favorite :) they also store the dress for you if you dont want to keep it at home :)

Ditto the rec for Catan. It's definitely a great place to start, even if you don't end up buying your dream dress there. It's nice to try on a bunch of different styles at the beginning -- even styles you don't think you can wear -- because you never know what will look good on YOU. Sometimes, dresses don't look so good on the hanger, but you get them on and WOW. Vice versa can also happen. Be sure to bring a camera with you. After trying on 5+ dresses, they'll all kinda blend together and it will help you sort things out later.

I ended up purchasing my dress at Julianne's Bridal Outlet in Olmsted Falls. They are a consignment shop, but are picky about what they accept to sell. Prices are excellent and their seamstress, Denise, does a wonderful (and well priced) job with alterations. In fact, you can use them for alts even if you didn't purchase your dress there. No problem! I've had BM gowns done there from Davids and Catan without any issue. Denise is very easy to work with.

Keep Julianne's in mind if you need alterations.

Of course, there's David's (various locatons) and Bridal Room (Elyria), too.

    Good luck and have fun!

I drove down to Henri's Cloud Nine to buy my dress ... it's a good hour and a half from Cleveland but they have a pretty big selection in a variety of price ranges. If you have an idea of designers whose dresses interest you, you could check the designers' websites and see where they're sold. That way you don't waste time at stores that don't have what you want.

I first went to David's in North Olmsted- and we had a great day, even though the place is so open and everyone in the store can see you. I went to Catan's the next day and it was kind of awful. I agree that they have a ton of dresses and you can try on many different gowns. However, the dressing room was grungy-  maybe not dirty, but everything looked old and worn out. Our consultant was horrible and rude, and kept bringing dresses in styles I said I didn't like.  I would say a dress had too much lace, she brought one that was all lace right after, etc.

I bought my dress from Dora's Bridal in Fairview Park.   It's a smaller shop- and they have been great.   I just went for my first fitting today-  and the alterations seem reasonable.

I recommend Catan's in Strongsville - that's where I got my dress.  My experience was the complete opposite of Ellen's.  My dressing room at Catan's was phenomenal -- large and clean -- with a separate room for me to change instead of doing so in front of the people I brought with me.  I was also able to choose the gowns myself, which I preferred.  My experience at David's, however, was AWFUL.  Tiny dressing rooms, extremely crowded, and not a good selection (I should phrase that as "not the style/kinds of dresses I was looking for).  Everyone has different experiences -- check out Catan's, David's, Dora's Bridal and maybe even Julianne's to see what kind of selection they have.

Catans is a great place to start! They had SO many styles to try on. This was the first place I went and I really have a good handle on the kind of dress I want now. The ladies there were very helpful. Arlene (I think that was her name) took great care of me and was good to give advice only when I asked for it. She was helpful but not pushy. Plus, they have nice hours and you dont' have to have an appointment - so it feels like a little less pressure to start looking.
