happy Wednesday!

I'm kinda blah today. Just tired and not feeling like doing much. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon. I can't believe I'm I'm the every other week appointment timeframe already. And I need to find a pediatrician. That was my homework from last appointment and I failed miserably. I don't even quite know where to start. Blergh.

Re: happy Wednesday!

  • Hey Loop!

You'll get it all figured out, promise!

Need to call my yoga instructor and find out if she's available tonight, it may be the only day I can get it done. But, I had plans to go shoe shopping tonight, huh shoe shopping, exercise, tough choices ;)

  • I'm waiting on a phone call from a yoga instructor at my gym. My doctor recommended I do some weight bearing activity like yoga in addition to my swimming cardio. But I have only done Jillian Michaels yoga and some DVD's so the gym recommended a private session to start to teach me some basics plus pregnancy modifications before joining a class. I'm kind of excited about if.
  • Morning all! I am going to NYC for fall break tonight. I am excited because it is a trip and to spend some time with him. He has been working pretty late so I haven't seen him much.

  • Good morning!

Loopy - I'd start with the list of available providers from your insurance, then ask around for recommendations.  Isn't there a website with physician ratings (a la Angie's List?).

Today is my daughter's birthday.  I'm not sure whether to be happy or sad about this.

  • morning!

I made dinner last night since FI is here from Ireland for the E party this weekend.  It was nice cooking for 2 for a change!!!

Mom flies in tomorrow.  :)  I am excited as I haven't seen her since August.

TLC, it's going to be in the mid 60s all weekend and cooler at night in NYC!  Make sure to pack a jacket and an umbrella!!!

  • Morning!

Just finished downstairs reorganizing the Cat's Corner.  We still had some of Bo's things around so I packed them up and stored them away in the garage.  H came home in the middle of it and was sad :(

Loopy - ditto Les - start with the providers within your insurance plan and get feedback.

Ok, the yoga and swimming talk is making me seriously think about a nice long walk before shift.
  • Loopy, I think there are some pregnancy yoga dvds around - I see them listed on a local fb flea market site from time to time. I'm trying to get into yoga myself and am thinking about taking a class.

Today is the tenth day of the tenth month of our school's tenth year. Big assembly, cake for all the homerooms (I don't have a homeroom). We also had a fire drill in the middle of a test this morning (they're not supposed to happen during tests). People aren't happy.

Trying hard not to be blah - thinking about bbq steak for supper. My fave!

  • There are some pregnancy yoga dvd's around. I have two of them. I don't like either. They are more stretching routines, not really a work out. I don't feel like I've done anything or been remotely challenged when I'm done with them.

And I would really want an instructor with me to make sure I'm not doing, too much" KWIM?

If I have an issue Janice can let me know not to even try it, or a modified way to do it.

It was fine. The baby is measuring very big. Like 85th percentile big so hopefully me being on a diet will put baby on a diet. I am tracking my sugar levels 4 times a day and sending them in weekly. As long as my numbers look decent I will continue managing with diet and go back in 5 weeks for another growth u/s. depending on the size of the baby at that point they'll decide if they'll induce early 3739 weeks or let nature take its course up to and maybe even beyond the 39 week mark.
  • Stupid phone took my dash out. 37 to 39 weeks, not 3739 weeks. And I made a comment about the hardest part was going to be Thanksgiving and he pretty much told me not to track my sugars on thanksgiving. One day will not be the end of the world. So yay for that.
  • morning.

I'm starving.  Well, not starving since I could use a little of that but ravenous anyway.  I could go for a huge steak dinner right about now and i'm not a big steak fancier usually.  Last night we had chicken tandoori with green beans and potatoes and still were hungry an hour later. This sugar fast sucks the first few days.  I find myself craving foods that aren't even in my daily diet normally.  Tomorrow is day 4 so I should be better by then.  Lametastic.  But, I needed it.

I just got home from math and am going to study up a tad before my Chem exam this afternoon.  i peeked at the grades online and am rocking just a smidgen below an A so I'm not too worried.
  • Morning all.

How old is your daughter now Les?

I have yet to try SkinnyTaste but you all keep talking about it so I may check it out this weekend.  I'm very excited that H is now talking weeks until Ironman instead of months.  He said last night that this is a down week for him (in training), then 2 weeks of heartrate training, 2 down weeks and then it's time for the big event.  So basically, if I blink, it will be Thanksgiving - yay!!

  • Anna. Is that why I'm so hungry? The first four days of this diabetic diet I always got really hungry right before it was time for me to eat again. Probably carb/sugar withdrawal related. Good luck!
  • Girlie, that is exciting. I tried these turkey meatballs in the crockpot off skinny taste last night. H pronounced them good, but next time I'll add some onion and a few shakes of hot pepper as I found it a smidge bland.

<div>Could be!  Someone once explained to me that carb-centric diets cause the body to get lazy since it's so much easier to break down fresh carb dense foods than to get the same out of proteins.  When you remove the volume of carbs a body is use to, it becomes like an irrational teenager looking in a fully stocked fridge but not seeing the convenience foods.  Too lazy to cook, the teen thinks he's gonna starve until he finally breaks down and does something about it. </div>
  • Haha. That's a good way of looking at it I think.
  • She's 22.  Argh.

Happy Birthday to your grandbaby, kd!  She's such a cutie.

My son at age 22 is still like this. How I kept him fed I have no idea, like a hoover.
