Caribbean Honeymoon?

FI and I need major help in deciding on a HM. We have a budget of about 3000, not including excursions for a 6-7 day trip in July. We just assume go somewhere in Mexico, but we're not set on that. We just think it will be a short and cheaper flight.

The most important thing for us is to have excursions and things to DO. We want to hike, zipline, maybe kayak, tube, whatever. We don't do well being inactive, so I'm thinking maybe just 1-2 lazy days on the beach.

We don't want Jamaica, Cancun, or Cozumel, and we prefer adults-only and all-inclusive.

Any suggestions? We are spinning our wheels over here!

    Further away from Cancun, both Playa del Carmen/Riviera Maya and Tulum are wonderful choices. The best part of this area of Mexico is that there are endless sightseeing and activity options to choose from. Other areas with all-inclusive resorts include the Dominican Republic, Aruba, Antigua, and St. Lucia.

    Based on what you have expressed, I think that Costa Rica would also work well for you. There aren't too many all-inclusives in the country (and I personally think Costa Rica is better experienced outside of an all-inclusive) but it would fit the bill for you in terms of activities.

    I second the Costa Rica vote!  We went years ago and LOVED it.  My sister is doing it for her honeymoon next year.  There are a couple all-inclusive options (new Westin- I think) and smaller boutique hotels.
    She and I use a really great travel agent that set up her Costa Rica trip.  I can pass along her info if you are interested.  PM me if so!

    I would agree with the PP. Both the Riviera Maya/Playa Del Carmen area in Mexico as well as Costa Rica. I have been to Playa Del Carmen and there are a million different things to do and excursions to go to. Never ending it seems like and picking which ones to do is very difficult because there are so many options. I think the excursions are very affordable there as well.

    I just did a quick search on allinclusiveoutlet.com and found several options for you both in Playa Del Carmen and Costa Rica within your price range. I did all of my pricing on that website then went to a local travel agent to book.

    Try the Excellence Resort in Playa Mujeres. You fly into Cancun which will give you the cheap flight but the resort is on a private beach 30 minutes north of Cancun. It has received rave reviews on Trip Advisor and Cheapcaribbean.com. We've had several friends honeymoon there per our recommendation and they have absolutely loved it!

    We're doing Breezes in Curacao, can't wait! Similar budges, it’s an all-inclusive hotel + includes a dive a day!! Also check out Iberostar hotels, there all over and incredible, I love the one in the Dominican.  I'd look into Paradise Island as well.
