I am still debating. I had to get some high heels due to my dress length and not wanting to hem it. If I take them off it will drag about 4 inches and I will be stepping on it. On the other hand I don't know if I can dance in 4 inch heels with a 1 inch platform. I am debating buying some kind of wedge or slipper. I think I will buy them, take them and see if I can make it work on the dance floor.
In my case it was different as I had a long gown (in siggy below) for the ceremony, but changed into a tea length less formal dress for the reception.Because it was August, I just wanted to be comfy.
I DIY'd some bridal flip-flops and had fun all night.
My shoes for the ceremony were actually quite comfortable as well. I got them from amazon.com, they were mules, so there was very little shoe around my foot. It was a leather upper covered with fabric, so it was less constrictive over the wide part of my foot.
As I've become older I find myself less and less patient with shoe pain, straps, etc. I work at home so putting ANY shoe on is an inconvenience, LOL.
For the ceremony the bridesmaids and I are going to wear heels, but for the reception Im getting the bridesmaids matching "comfy" shoes, like decked out flip flops or something and Ill have the bridal version of them. I definiately want to be comfortable dancing!
My colors were blue and red. I wore Navy heels for the ceremony and pictures. I happened to have a pair of red flats already in my closet, so those are what I wore for dancing etc. Had I not had those, I either would have gone barefoot or brought a pair of flip flops with me. If you have a long dress, no one is going to see them. Even if you lift your dress up to dance, it'll be dark and by that time, no one cares what you're wearing on your feet :-)

I had planned to where some nice formal shoes for the ceremony, then change to my awesome Aerosole comfy white wedge sandles for the reception (I'm not changing dresses). However, I have failed after many attempts to find comfy white shoes that are close enough in height so now I just plan to where the darn Aerosoles the whole time. They're totally casual but I just don't care anymore....they are comfy as heck for 3 1/2 inchers. They feel like slippers
