Wedding Recap

Since I was the only July wedding, I didn't want to deprive you all of a wedding recap!

We had the most AMAZING rehearsal dinner on a private dinner cruise around the harbor 2 days before the wedding.  It was so much fun.  Some of my family had never been to California, so they absolutely loved getting to see the city that way.

Our wedding day was absolutely beautiful.  H and I broke tradition by staying with each other the night before the wedding (decided last minute).  He has anxiety, and I knew I would be panicked if I didn't know if his anxiety was kicking in or not that day, so to keep us both calm and relaxed, it worked for us.  I think that is actually what kept us relaxed and stress free all day long!

I went to brunch with my bridesmaids that morning at a cute (and delicious!) local brunch place in San Diego.  The wait took forever and by the time we got back, my hair and makeup lady was already there doing my MIL's hair.  It was so good though and kept us full until dinnertime.

Getting ready was amazing.   Our hotel rooms looked out over the San Diego harbor, so I sipped champagne and watched the boats while I had my hair and makeup done.  My bridesmaids and mom were all in there as well, so we had a good time.  Our photographer showed up halfway through the getting ready process and got some pictures.  When my flower girl got there, we went outside for pictures.  The FG was so shy at first, but about 10 minutes into pictures, she felt like she was just one of the girls, and didn't want to hang out by her mom the rest of the night. :)

Our ceremony was exactly how I hoped it would be.  H teared up as I walked down the aisle, and my dad kept wispering funny things to me so that I wouldn't cry and ruin my makeup.  We had so many compliments on our ceremony for how personalized it was to us.  We also received a lot of compliments on the God's Knot ceremony.  Overall, it was perfect.  There was a huge japanese beetle that helicoptered over us at one point, but it made for some funny pictures and a few laughs. :)

The reception was beyond fun.  I was worried that people might leave ealry since it was a Sunday night wedding, but almost everybody stayed until the very end, dancing the night away!

The only thing I would've changed is having a different hairstyle, because I was SO so hot with my hair down, and it dropped quickly from humidity.  Also, the venue served dessert, even though I insisted that I didn't want them to since I wanted people to eat the cake. We of course are left with tons of cake, but I guess it's not all bad since it's so tasty. :)

We went to Bora Bora on our HM, which felt unreal the entire time we were there.  It was by far the most beautiful setting that I have ever been to.  We relaxed most of the time on the deck of our over water bungalow and hung out at the beach. We also went snorkeling and shark and stingray feeding and got to swim with them!  Our flight back from the HM was a disaster, as Air Tahiti Nui went on strike, and we were rerouted to New Zealand and Australia before returning to the US, but overall it was wonderful!

Some of our wedding pictures are up on our photographers blog if you want to check them out at andrewjadephoto.com.  We're Bryan and Allison--the San Diego wedding. :)
