September 2012 Weddings

ONE MONTH!!!!

Eeeep.... one month from right now, I will be eating breakfast with my fabulous fiance for the last time.  Then he'll go off with his groomsmen while I get all beautified... and then we get MARRIED!!!!!!!!!

This year has FLOWN!  We've been engaged for 17 months now, and while at first it went rather slowly, I think Month 5 to Month 1 passed in the blink of an eye.

So ladies... now we can all say, "I'm getting married NEXT MONTH!"

How do you feel?  Are you celebrating your -1 Month?

I can't wait to wake up 2 days later... the day after we have a family barbecue (instead of a brunch) so it's still quite busy.  But on Labor Day morning, I'll be waking up with my FI, alone... except he'll be my HUSBAND!

I am soooooo emotional, I'm not sure what feeling I'm having from moment to moment.  LOL
  • I am SO excited for us to hit September and start to see all the amazing pictures coming together from each and every wedding. Everyone on here is so beautiful and unique!
  • I hit my one month tomorrow !!! I cant believe it. Time is certainly flying by and I am ready to get married and begin my new life as Mrs Ford !!

  • I've crossed over into a weird state of mind where I'm mostly "honey badger doesn't give an eff". And by that I mean I'm not worried about getting the rest of the to-do list done, I figure it'll either get done or not and that's okay. All the big items are done so I'm determined not to sweat the small stuff!

I cannot wait to wake up in Hawaii on the honeymoon!

  • I got engaged on 9/24/10 and getting married 9/22/12. I feel like I lost months 17-6 of the count down. I flipped the calendar today to August and my first thought was "Oh snap i'm getting married next month" not going to lie my heart did sink a little.
  • I'm glad to hear Im not the only one who is an emotional wreck!  I too have had waves of nasuea. I am so excited, anxious and nervous.....I'm afraid I'm going to throw up during the ceremony, that is my worst fear right now. My nerves are so bad. Does anyone have any tips of how I can relax on the big day????

    Booze.
No, kidding.  Blah blah blah avoid alcohol and sodium so you don't bloat and look fresh faced and fabulous.
For me, I'm making a point of working out the morning we get married, getting some sleep, having a healthy breakfast, leaving PLENTY of time for everything...okay, and maybe a glass of champagne won't hurt.
Some people meditate, but I personally work out and listen to books on tape while I take long walks.  For me, that is great.  I'm also really being careful about not drinking too much coffee.

  • omgomgomgomggg!!

I am so excited!! We are engaged about 20 months now, so I feel your pain! I am so ready for this though! Everyone is paid and good to go! Now the waiting will get even harder!
  • Question - my hair stylist suggested I come with hair that was washed the night before.  But if I get up and go for a run, I'm going to need to wash it, right?  Is that a big deal?

I've been told by my stylist ......thats a no no.  If your hair is too clean, it will make it too hard to work with, and your style won't stay for very long.  So unless your going with a slicked back bun.... probably should skip the run.
  • They tell you not to wash it because your style will hold better if its a little "dirty".  I would call your salon and talk to them about that.

  • Calindi, if you don't sweat a ton it might not be a huge deal.  I sweat buckets so I'm going to have to skip a morning run the day of.  I'm hoping to sneak one in before the rehearsal dinner the night before.  Ditto about the not washing your hair.  My stylist said the same exact thing as what PPs mentioned above.   The only thing I could think of is using a waterless shampoo to freshen your hair up.  I'm not sure if that will interact with any of the products your stylist will use to keep your look though...
  • Yeah, I don't usually sweat a lot, so I'll probably be fine just rinsing off my body.  If anything, it will help dirty my hair a little since it will have been washed only right before the rehearsal dinner!

  • I got goosebumps reading through everyone's posts! I'm one month today also... and you are so right about months 5-1 just flying by.  I also agree with not sweating the small stuff! At this point, it's all things people won't know were supposed to be there. Like, if I don't get my sweet heart table decorations done, no one will ever know.  I'm kind of finding peace in that!  Good luck everyone and congrats!!

  • I'm in shock. I knew today was August 1st. But not until I read this thread did i realize that the wedding was next month. Now i'm sitting her going through endless lists in my head of what i still need to do.
  • At this time in one month it will be 15 minutes until our ceremony! :)
The time has absolutely flown by and I am looking forward to our HM more than ever!

I am hoping to celebrate the one month mark this weekend. Work has so kindly shipped me back to Wisconsin so FI and I are apart. :(

I can't wait! I think I have 4 weeks left & it will be one month. Congrats to all the September brides!!

  • Oh, man, calindi I'm so glad you asked about the hair washing! I've been planning to go for a nice run on the wedding day but I sweat a lot so I don't think that's a good idea...
