This one was too plain

This one had too much...stuff

This one was too expensive (I know, I know...I shouldn't have tried it on in the first place)

But this one was just right:

This last one is my favorite so far...it's a sample gown so it's a really really good deal. If I wasn't just starting my shopping this weekend I totally would have bought it. But I really want to keep trying on dresses because, well, this will be the one time in my life that I get to do this!
Anyone else who's gone dress shopping: how long did it take for you to find your gown? How many dresses did you try on / how many stores did you go to? After you found your dress, did you keep shopping anyways just to be sure?
Re: AW: Wedding dress shopping
The first time I was engaged, I probably tried on over 200 dresses easily. (And took pictures of almost all of them). I just couldn't imagine myself walking down the aisle in any of them. I think we went to about 10 different stores at least. My poor mother got dragged to all of them.
This time when I went dress shopping, I went to maybe 4 stores and tried on between 40 and 50 dresses? I found my dress on the David's Bridal website, and fell in love with it. When we went there, and I had a whole list of dresses I wanted to try on. I tried this dress on last, and didn't want to take it off. The women there were trying to make it like SYTTD, and came up and asked the girl next to me, and me, at the same time, "If this was our dress"... The girl next to me burst into tears and said YES! I was like, ahhhh, I want to keep looking... LOL!
So, we kept looking, and I kept going back to that dress. I kept comparing everything to that dress. A couple of weeks later, I went back and purchased it. When my BMs and I went dress shopping for them, I continued looking at dresses (I know, I know, I shouldn't have kept looking), but it makes me fall more in love with my dress.
And, I just found out that my dress is in!!! I'm in KY visiting FI, so I'm dying to get home and try on MY dress!! (The sample was a 14 or a 16, and I'm a true 0, so I can't wait to try on a dress that actually fits correctly!)

Lol... Sorry. I'm actually trying to put on weight for my wedding because my dress is too big. FI and I were eating waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, and when the waitress came back, I asked for more whipped cream. She gave me this look of really, that thing is covered in whipped cream and I was like, I'm trying to fit into my wedding gown. She gave me a really dirty look and walked away... FI and I started laughing really hard.
Thanks. I'm pretty much in love with my wedding gown :) I wouldn't be suprised if once I get it home, I put it on just because I can. LOL! I do that with the veil now.

I have never been wedding dress shopping, but my feeling on the matter is that if you LOVE the dress, you wouldn't feel the need to keep looking. If you just really really like the dress, and kind of feel like its the one, then keep looking at one or two more places. Honestly, what is the worst that can happen
Have you ever had buyers remorse after purchasing something?
If so- you might be the type that might want to consider looking around at different dresses.
However- I personally listen to my heart strings- and I've never regretted a single purchase I've made. So I'll be interested if that continues to be the case when I'm looking at dresses. I have a feeling when I find the "one"- I'll stop looking.
I love the last dress you tried on! It's beautiful!
I went to 2 stores when I went dress shopping (twice to DB). I probably tried on maybe 15 gowns total? The first store I went to was a complete bust. They were rude, the gowns were dirty and torn, I had to pull them all myself, it was a freaking circus in there and their dresses were way overpriced. Not only that, but I didn't even find anything I even liked there, so that trip was pretty quick. I tried on like 4 dresses there and left before my appointment time was even up.
I went to DB next and had a list of all the dresses I wanted to try on. I really liked my favorite from online and considered buying it that day, but I also liked another dress too. I didn't get to try on the second dress on in my size, so it was really baggy, I wasn't crazy about the color, and I hated the sparkled belt it had. But I went home and looked at pictures of me in the first dress I loved and it was just way too much on me. Too much going on, too much fabric, too many layers. Then I looked at pictures of other brides in the second dress, when it actually fit them, in the color I wanted, and changed the belt and I loved it. I went back to try that one on again and she found it in my size that time (still in the wrong color, but I could picture it better having seen it on other brides). I literally just walked around the store for like an hour in that dress because I didn't want to take it off. So I bought it
I stopped looking, but even just watching SYTTD and stuff, I've never seen another dress that I like in pictures even half as much as I like my dress. It's just so perfect for me and my personality and the feeling of the wedding.
I haven't started shopping yet because I'm determined to both reach my goal weight and settle on a venue first. Both of those things should, hopefully, happen within the next month or so. I'm worried about dress shopping, though. If I'm as picky about that as I have been about my venue, I'm never going to find a dress I love.

That's pretty much what I feel like. I should say though that I am very indecisive and hate making decisions. I hate feeling like I don't have enough information or haven't exhausted all possibilities. But, generally once I make a decision I stick with it. I think I'll keep looking a little bit more but keep the last dress in mind :)
Married!
When I went dress shopping I did alot of looking online , but my first and last stop was David's Bridal - and it was a VERY GOOD experience. I went with my maid of honor to help me and we picked out about 3 dresses , and she saw one that she felt I *HAD* to try on..I agreed. I tried on the first one - it looked great on the rack , but not on me. Second one was way too old fashioned and then I tried on the one MOH pciked out..It was seriously the most perfect dress ever ! I stopped , and cried , she cried , and I never even entertained the idea of trying anything else on. It was also on sale for 399.00 so how could I not say yes
