Alrighty, for those of you ladies that read about/supported me the last few days I really wantes to update you.
Quick recap: I was thinking about leaving my current position (in Louisiana) to move to Connecituct... even though I didn't have a job. Monday I posted about an interview I had in CT... Time for the update!
I got a call today offering me a demonstration lesson, which means I've moved into the next phase of the hiring process! Yay! Kicker: I'm 1400 miles away.
They offered me 2 dates to come do the lesson:
- January 13 (THIS FRIDAY)
-January 27 (but if there's even 1 snow day I would need to wait until Feb 3)
Now, I support 2 students in college. If I leave mid to late February they will have a replacement for me and the guys can still go to college. If I chose to take the January 27th interview date, the semester will have started and I would need to take time off while the guys have class. This would suck for them, the professors at the college, and my boss. So I'm thinking I need to interview on the 13th...
If I do the 13th I need to leave TOMORROW!! I'd have to put together a lesson while at the airport because as of tonight I don't know what the topic is... I'd also need to tell my boss I need to leave early tomorrow and have Friday off. The good news is this would not affect my students, as they leave school early tomorrow and aren't coming Friday. The bad news is I'm terrified to tell my boss.
I think I need to leave tomorrow... If I do, it's showing the school in CT my sincere determination and desire for the postion and it's best for the students.... AGH, thoughts?
