Aisle runner??

Does anyone have any ideas for an aisle runner for an outdoor ceremony??? I dont want to ruin my dress going down to the aisle

Sorry, but I feel like you answered your own question. Get an aisle runner, there are a million different kinds. Google or your local craft store will help. If you want specific ideas can you give more info, general taste, budget, colors? Good luck

If you are walking over grass or any uneven surface, don't get a traditional aisle runner. They are a huge tripping hazard and if you are wearing heels, you will sink right through them. Only use a linen or fabric aisle runner if you are walking over a flat/hard surface and the runner can be secured to the ground/pavement.

You can rent or buy carpet runners, but they are not cheap. Most of the rental places I have found only rent them in red. I am buying these:

Amazon.com and orientaltrading.com have nice aisle runners. Lots of them are gossamer, but if you are wearing heels, avoid this. Heels will punch right through.

Not only will heels punch right through, but if the surface isn't flat (i.e. grass), you run the risk of the runner getting generally caught in a dress and dragging along behind you. Only buy a fabric/linen aisle runner if it can be secured to a flat surface. Cement, pavement, etc. You can take it down with that gummy glue stuff. Otherwise, go runner-free or buy carpet runners.

I don't mind my dress getting grassy so much... but, we are getting married in a park next to the SF Bay Estuary... which means, GEESE. We are going out and raking that morning, to try to get goose poo off the grass. But, if a goose happens to poo right before I walk down the aisle, I don't want to drag fresh wet goose crap along with me. I have a vision of runny goose crap down the back of my dress when I bustle it up.

So, I sprang for the carpet/artificial turf runners. It was a lot of money, but spending the money means, no goose poo on my dress and I can wear my heels.

We're getting married on a wooden porch outdoors, there aren't any spaces between the boards my heels fit into so I went with the traditional outdoor runner. I agree with the ladies though, if your big focus is the grass, don't worry about it. Our photos/cocktail hour/etc is all on grass and I'm not concerned.

its in a state park my worry is the dirt and twigs and duck poo... i think ill get that carpet runner, thanks for the idea!

We are using burlap..which you can purchase reasonably at an ourdoor store. Using it as an outdoor aisle runner to fit the look of the wedding.

I thought about using burlap... but, if you are wearing heels, you'll sink right through it.
