We are serving beer and wine then of course tea, lemonade and water but not sure how much alcohol to buy! Suggestions? There are about 100 adult guests, and of course they dont' all drink or drink wine.
Do you live near a wine/beer/alcohol warehouse or large distributor?
We have one near us and went in there about 3-4 weeks before the wedding. Any large facility that sells in bulk will have knowledgable people there to assist.
We had about 70 adults coming, about 2/3 were wine drinkers, 1/3 beer drinkers. We provided that information to the wine manager, along with the facts that we wanted a nice blend of some dry reds, some sweet reds, some dry whites and sweet whites, and about 8 bottles of champagne. We also indicated we wanted one red and one white dessert wine. We told him we wanted to average about $10 a bottle. He walked around with us giving us input on his choices as we filled the grocery cart.
We left with a nice selection of wines, 24 bottles for $220. Our guests raved about the selection. We had a "pony keg" of beer for the beer drinkers. We did not run out of anything, in fact I think we had 4 unopened wine bottles, and 3-4 that were opened as leftovers.
I am just having 1 bottle of wine per table (16) and then a beer keg or 2. I know FI"s family love to drink but we can't really provide more than that.

Good luck.
