engagement party etiquette??

HI! Looking for some advice.....

I was invited to a friend's engagement party, but I can't make it because I have already committed to a wedding on the same day. My engagement party is the following weekend and she is invited to mine. We aren't super close, are obviously good enough friends to make the wedding list.....

My question is....should I send a gift to her, and if yes, what should I send? She isn't registered. Is it weird since my party is a week later? Is it weird not to send something?

    if she's not registered i would call her mom and ask what she wants. it might be a no gifts e party.
    i would send a gift anyway-that's just how I am. but if the 2 of you aren't close to begin with it seems like a bit of a gift grab to invite people you're not close to....jmo. i dont see what your party being the week after really has to do with it though...
