Hi, I am considering Stan Hywet as a ceremony reception location. I know that you have a choice of 3 different caterers taste of excellence, acme, and Sammys. Which one would you recommend has the best food for the best price. Also has anyone else have any other experience with Stan Hywet. Thanks

    My step brother was married there and had Sammy's, I was not impressed at all with the food but the deserts were great. I have heard good things about Acme and the other I have not heard about.

    Definitely don't want to be a downer, but fair warning-
    I also considered Stan Hywet - it's breathtakingly beautiful, has such a lovely sense of authenticity and history in the area - but the coordinator at the time (early last year) was very slow to respond to emails and calls. As in, weeks to never at all. So disappointing because it's so enchanting there.
    I ended up writing them off because I took it as in inability to serve and communicate effectively for simple questions and requests. Maybe the coordinator has since changed, though.
    Also, hang onto your wallet, you'll need it if you go with them!
