WHY is there even a Dec 2013 wedding board?

I can understand a long engagement, but 2.5 years out, do you REALLY need to be doing all that much planning?

it's how some poeple do stuff, I've know a few couples who were engaged or plan to be engaged 2 years +

I would not want to be engaged for more than 18 months, even though I do know several people in IRL who were engaged for 2+ years.

I was engaged for 16 months and was pulling my hair out from boredom for most of that time. I couldn't imagine prolonging it. So I laugh when people are like "OMG how could you plan a wedding in 4 months?!?!" Though admittedly, the length of time is usually based on the availability of venues.

Yes, it is. They still have half of 2010, plus all of 2011, 2012, and 2013 to go.

Im getting married in April of 2013... yeah it is a long ways away, I will be engaged for 3 years at that point. Sometimes it is not about planning all the time.... Im 30, he is 31, I have 2 kids, I just started my own business and my Fiancee is finishing his degree. Then it will be our time to get married. We are paying for it on our own and want a dream wedding with little debt afterwards, so we are saving up and making sure we have everything just so. It is just the life situation for some of us. There isn't anything "wrong" with it. But even though we are not planning hard and fast and quick, we should get to enjoy the boarsds and meet people doing the same as we are
