Getting in Shape

Apartment Workouts

So I live in an upstairs apartment, and want to start working out and getting in shape for the big day! But I can't do too much since my downstairs neighbor can hear basically every step i take! Does anyone have any workout ideas that can prevent me from being too "noisy" ?

Re: Apartment Workouts

  • Such a great post! i was actually thinking of writing a question for the exact same situation!!! We live on the 2nd floor and our floors are paper thin so i totally am in the same dilemma as you - i was thinking of even going outside and doing jump rope or jumping jacks but not sure if thats better....i def don't want to annoy/upset my neightbors. But i would love to order all these DVDs and workout videos but feel i would be 100% into it if im worried about noise.

Hopefully someone will come up with some interesting ideas!!!

  • I know! I have zumba and just dance for my Wii but I feel like I can't do them either. And I could go jogging or walking outside but it's so darn cold here!
  • i actually bought myself an exercise bike and i livein a tiny apartment it was on sale at a close out in zellers and i live in northern ontario so it REALLY helps during the winter months and i just tuck it beside my computer desk quite too
  • Great idea on the p90x! thanks! :)
  • I agree with a PP about an exercise bike. I got a fold up exercise bike for a reasonable price 2 years ago and when the weather is bad and it's cold outside or the gym closes early - it's the perfect thing. It doesn't make any noise really, but you can still get a great cardio workout...and as a bonus you can watch some TV or a movie while doing it!

My apartment is small, so the fact that the exercise bike folds up is key for me.
