Bridal Party Dance

Just need opinions on what songs to have my bridal party dance to. None of the couples are married or dating so, I don't want it to be an awkward slow song any suggestions.

Re: Bridal Party Dance

  • Perhaps something a bit fun that is still a couples dance like "In the Mood" by Glenn MIller - it's a swing song.

  • I'm against bridal party songs unless everyone is super comfortable around each other. It's pretty akward to be a bridemaid and barely know the groomsman and have to sway back and forth while a room full of people watches. If you are set on one, can you do it as a group fast dance at the end of the night when most people would be buzzed and not so tense?

  • We are doing a fast song for that very reason, and we only have 1 each.

  • I agree with them being awkward. I had to dance with a guy I never met. Not to mention he was creepy.

  • We're doing "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers, and the bridal party is not dancing with each other as a slow dance. We will all stand in a big circle and "sway." But we all go to the casino as one big group, our wedding reception is attached to a casino, and this will be played as the last song of the night. Also, the groomsmen all have their own additives to the song. So it gets hilarious every time we play it when we're all together.

So if you do anything, make sure you pick something that your bridal party can have fun with.  Also, there are more options than a slow dance. Or, do not do one at all. If our bridal party wasn't as close as they are, we would be opting out of having one.
  • we are doing a bridal party dance after dinner to get everyone dancing.  Its just going to be the chacha slide so everyone in the party knows it, and then we can pull people in to join to get the party started!

  • I agree with previous poster's in that a wedding party dance sounds awkward.  I skipped it.

  • We aren't doing a bridal party dance. In fact, we are skipping most of those "special" dances. I'm not even doing a father daughter dance because I know my Dad will feel awkward in front of everyone.
