I only have 24 days until my wedding, and today I am off to get the marriage license. A friend of mine told me there is also a name change kit that I have to get for $20.  I am planning to change my name, but I didn't know if it was needed. I also have a few more things to purchase for the wedding. I need a ring bearer pillow, a garter and toss garter, a guest book, and unity candles. Does anyone have some reccomendations on where to find these things cheap?

    I wouldn't buy the name change kit...waste of money.  All you have to do after you are married is go to SSI, bring your marriage license and old SS card and drivers license to change your name legally.  Then wait at least 3 days, then go to DMV.  Bring your marriage license, and drivers license.  They will take new picture and destroy old license.  Then after that, you just call the credit card companys adn they will ususally just change your name over the phone (i just did this 2 weeks ago and had no problems).  Some make you fax a copy of your new license over or a copy of your marriage license.  With my utilities, I just called them up and got everything changed.  Your employer should handle changing your insurance information over. 


    A lot of places sell unity candles-joann fabrics, michaels, ac moore, sheila's party world.  They also sell the ring bearer pillows adn garters.

    I wouldnt buy anthing from ac moore...rip offfffff in my opinion. Try buying that stuff from rexcraft.com or invititionsbydawn.com. I would make my own unity candle too and just buy the stand. Good luck and congrats on your wedding...its sooo soon!!!
