My FI was in town for four days this week and we got a few big things done!

-Started registry
-Picked out tuxes
-Got our wedding bands

I'm very excited about our bands.  My Dad passed away a couple years ago, and my parents were married almost 30 years.  They had a great relationship - truly an example of romance and love.  My Mom recently offered to give us their rings because they have "good marriage karma" (her words).  My FI was super excited, which made it even better.  We definitely cried when we left the jeweler :)

    Wow i love the idea of "good wedding karma" My parents are still together after 40 years so i get where your coming from. I think it's a great way to carry not only the memory of your father but the love your parents shared, through every day of your marriage. So sweet.

    Exactly!  I said that the ring will be a reminder of their love, right next to the daily reminder of my FI's love for me (my e-ring) :)
