Worth It or Not?

Opinions please :)  The ceiling swags are an add on at our reception venue for decorations. To do a star like in the picture is $650 and to do an X is $550. I think it's an easy way to cut back on budget by not using them, but I really like them. Just wondering what others thought. TIA.

IMO, that's alot of money for a decoration. Are you able to DIY it? Maybe buy the fabric yourself?

It's pretty, but IMHO not worth $100.  I think it looks just as nice without it.

I wouldn't pay that price for it.  But it is very pretty.

IMO not worth it. Spend the money somewhere else. I've been asking myself that question a lot (is it worth it ) and this is how I am rationalizing things:

What else could I do with that money?

Answer: buy a couch for  new home, buy a computer, etc.

    Is it worth it?

Will it make or break the wedding? WIll anyone even notice?

We had our reception at Edgewood CC and chose not to decorate the ceiling. One of the features we loved about the room was the high ceilling and we thought putting up fabric would make things feel more closed in. To be honest, with decorations, etc the room is so beautiful that no one will even notice.

I think it's one of those things that looks really great in the pictures so you think "I want that!"  but if it isn't there, no one will really notice.

I'd skip it.  Also, the draping hides the chandeliers, which I think look really nice.

I agree with everyone else. Put it towards something that will make a difference like your honeymoon or just save it for a rainy day. They are pretty, but no one is going to notice if they aren't there and even if they are it will blend in with the entire experience for your guests. This isn't like upgrading from bland seasonless chicken to a gourmet meal for instance. Plus, unless you're keeping the fabric, $650 seems like a ton of money to spend on an effect for a 5ish hour event.

Thanks Everyone! Will likely be nixing this - Good points that it takes away from the high ceiling and hides the chandeliers - and if you break down the price hourly - it's pretty much $100+ per hour, which is insane!
