Can I please plan already?!?

So ladies...because of this venue NONSENSE, I am stuck and cannot move forward with the rest of the wedding planning.

I cannot do anything until we have the venue squared away.

I feel like I am missing out on some wonderful experiences and the whole planning process. I dont want to feel stressed because there is so much to do with only a little time but I am starting to believe that it is going to go like that. Cry

I am ready to go leave the $1000 deposit and move forward with everything else...I cant do that without making sure that is what FI wants as well.

SOMEONE HELP ME!!!
I JUST WANT PLAN!!!

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. That really sucks. Well financially can you just move on and leave $1000?

Maybe you can just focus right now on attire for yourself. your daughter and maybe rings and little things here and there. I hope everything resolves itself

Yea I agree with xxquemirasxx - I would try to focus on other things that need your attention - that don't have to do with the venue right now.  I would also make list(s) of things that do concern your venue so that when it is all settled - you have a list to work from.  For example - how you want to decorate, what you need to buy - you can start making that list; flowers; linen and colors; lighting.

I wouldn't give up on the money just yet - definitely make sure that whatever you guys decide you have your FI's input too - cause it is his day too!

If the venue you have decided on going with is ultimately cheaper by more than a thousand dollars from the original venue, you could suggest to your FI that you guys just let it go and move on.

$1000 is alot of money, BUT it's not enough to justify holding off all the other things that need to be taken care of--nor is it enough to justify therapy bills if it is making you crazy.

The world moves on regardless if they refund your money or not.

totally agree with pp.  Focus on the dress etc right now.  Have you sent out STDs yet?  If not, you can start looking at those too!  not all STDs have to have a city unless you have a lot of out of town relatives going to the wedding. [at least thats the 'rule' i read]
So sorry you have to worry about all of this.  1000 is a lot to lose but maybe just try to cut a little corner here and there to drop your budget a thousand and maybe FI will be okay?
