New to the Board!

Hi all! I'm new to this board! Got engaged a little over a month ago and we're now starting to really get into the whole wedding planning thing!

Just one question for you guys: where did you start your planning at? I mean, we've had discussions on when and where, but not much else and I'm starting to feel a little behind the game on things after seeing some of your guys' posts!

    Congrats and welcome!

    I think you definitely should figure out an overall budget from looking at venues and approximate guest count. And of course, book your venue ASAP since May and June are both wildly popular months for any event :-)

    Hi there!  Congrats!

    Budget and guest lists are a good place to start.  You need to figure out how much you can spend and how many people you need to invite.  Once you get that settled, start looking for venues as soon as you can.  They book up fast.  Good luck!  This board is super helpful, so feel free to ask us questions :)

    Welcome to the board.! May is probably the most popular month to get married in so vendors book up quickly. First, we figured out our budget then got started on the venue search and guest list. Most wedding things are based per person so the guest count is important.!

    Congrats! We started with the date and venus and then started thinking about other big vendors. We found our photographer shortly after. This board has been super helpful, but I would say don't become too overwhelmed if others are way ahead of you in planning.

    i say start with budget and approx number of guests.  then venue.  you should also find out if family going to help with the budget and if so how much.
