DIY'ing like its my JOB!

I am determined to cross a few more projects off of my list this weekend.  I have a bunch of DIY's that are works in progress that I am trying to finish up today or tomorrow so I don't have to sit here looking at them anymore. I have FI taking care of the last paperwork issues and requests that he needs so we can pick up the marriage license next week.  What is everyone else up to this weekend?

Re: DIY'ing like its my JOB!

  • I plan on doing the same thing.  I have a lot of projects that are half way done.  It doesnt bother me, but it does fi.  Hes just hoping that I have it all picked up by the time people start coming so they have a place to sleep.  I plan to have it all done asap and that way I can pack it to go to the venue!

Urg, homework.  :(  FI and I both are in school full time (and working full time).  This weekend is a 3-page paper & small-ish project for me and a 14 Question final for FI.  I'll be finished w/ my Bachelors in August and FI finishes his MBA in 2 more years.  :)

  • I had plans to go on a road trip with fmil this weekend and then hope up sick this morning, so I'm vegging out on the couch until I regain my strength!
I picked up a few things for the wedding yesterday, and am pretty much done with everything wedding related until the week before/of!
  • I'm working all weekend... BOO.

[QUOTE]Well, I finished the sign for our guest book tree table, finished our favors, got a handful of invites out that are late because I was waiting for addresses from FI, ordered St. Christopher's medals for my nieces as part of their FG gifts (plus a great deal on THIS dress and shoes to wear to my shower in 3 weeks), had an impromptu dinner at my parents.  Now about to start cutting the bazillion organza flower shapes I need for the flowers for my dress.  Oh and I finalized the order for our fresh flowers for bouqets and bouts, and hair.  Aaaahhh.  Feels good to get so much done.  Also came up with a perfect solution to our officiant troubles so that we can resolve that on Monday, AND had FI's wedding band resized.

  • My major check for the weekend was doing a flower proposal. We went to the florist & floral supply store and mapped it all out. Fortunately, two friends of the family used to do wedding flowers & are coming out of retirement for me. I only have to pay for the supplies. Peonies, roses, snapdragons and a whole bunch of other beautiful flowers for $500. Maybe another $100 in ribbon and supplies. Yey!

I also managed to finally put ribbon around our birdcage card holder and drop off my Thank You sign and aisle runner for my BM to work on painting them.
