Outdoor Detroit Wedding Venues

I am brand new to the knot! I am going between getting married in detroit or somewhere in northern michigan...traverse city area.....Any suggestions, ideas. Anything will help at this point! I'm so confused. By the way, looking for a midrange priced venue, not cheap but not super expensive either!

    I am not sure of your idea of "midrange priced", but I went to a beautiful wedding at the Grand Traverse Resort. The ceremony took place outside and and the reception was inside. I think you could have your reception outside as well. Very picturesque.

    In the Detroit area Cranbrook is a beautiful outdoor wedding venue! Also, many of the country clubs offer outdoor ceremonies and receptions.

    I think you will get more suggestions if you give more specific details about what you are looking for i.e. 20k budget for outdoor ceremony and ballroom reception 150ppl.

    Welcome to the board. I agree, more info is needed. "mid-price" can be $2500 for someone that thinks $5000 is a lot for a wedding, or $50,000 for someone who thinks $100,000 is a lot.


    It also helps to know what month & year you are thinking about.

    Do you mean Detroit like the Metro area, or you only want to be inthe city proper?  I'm getting married at a greenhouse in Pontiac.  It's absolutely adorable and the owner is really easy to work with.  They're building an ampitheater for ceremonies and have ample space for a tent reception if you choose not to use a greenhouse.  They have 9 acres of property to use.  You bring your own catering and booze, the site rental is $2500.  I have more infor if you want it!  Good luck.

    Outdoor for both preferably.....If the reception is inside I would at least like to have a beautiful view of the river or something.

    That sounds awesome! I am basically just looking for a place that's scenic and beautiful already. I think my new slogan is "I want a venue that's already beautiful not that I HAVE to make beautiful"! I will definitley look into that! Thanks
