Oatmeal cookie Trap

So I very rarely eat cookies, but today i stepped into the Oatmeal cookie trap. My lunch was catered at work by Jimmy Johns, the sandwhich wasn't so bad, but the cookie had more calories than my sandwhich. about 420 calories to be exact! I should have skipped the cookie, but 3/4 are being digested. I now know to skip the cookie next time and stick with my instincts. -- oh well glad its sunny here going out for a long hard run!

Re: Oatmeal cookie Trap

  • was it at least a really good cookie?
    Anniversary
  • I feel you. When you see oatmeal & raisins, your mind automatically assumes that it must be healthy. I've fallen into that trap too.
  • It's okay to do that every once in a while, but it's good you're aware of just how bad it is now. (I used to work for Jimmy Johns and ate those darn things all the time, till I looked at the nutrition info one day!)

I totally eat teddy grahams when I really want cookies now. Half a serving of teddy grahams is 12 of the little suckers and it satisfies the sweet craving and I feel like I'm eating a lot because they're so small!

  • Those cookies are frickin delicious!

Calories well spent in my opinion.  Not like you eat one every day.  You have to eat things you enjoy sometimes.  I think it makes you a more successful dieter in the long run since a healthy diet includes variety and in my opinion, not really depriving yourself of anything.
  • I Did the exact same thing today. I had a lunch meeting today and totally splurged on a really awesome sugar cookie (it was big too-290 calories big). I did feel kind of bad at the time but it was delicious and worth it. It's hard to remember what not to eat when everyone else is eating it!
  • Thats ok, just make good choices tomorrow and drink lots of water!  Definitely don't beat yourself up over it.
  • well if it was a good cookie, then don't beat yourself up about it! Better than binging on a big mac meal or something!
