Your milk glass centerpieces!

I've already got  slew of milk glass vases taking over my basement, and I'm so excited to use them!  I'd like to see how other knotties are using them in their centerpieces!

Re: Your milk glass centerpieces!

  • Laura, I LOVE your main vessels!!  I'm antiquing on foot instead of Ebay, and haven't found any like that.  Hobnail is my favorite.  I'm going for a more mismatched look, but I might have to try and get at least one of those!  Beautiful!  Your ceremony site is perfect too!  I was looking for a venue like that, but none in my area :(

Steph, that's a LOT of milk glass vases you're collecting... I love it!  I could antique 24/7 I think.  Have fun finding them!

  • WOW your stuff is gorgeous! I'm doing antique glass as well, but only have a few finds mixed in with the newer, plain, clear glass vases--hobnail is my fave, though!
I got a really cute little hobnail milkglass double handled cup-thingie that i ADORE. It's one of the few bits of decorations and centerpieces I won't be giving away after the wedding.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, WHOA. Lois, this is not my Batman glass."
  • I've found several at Goodwill too.  I don't know what I'm going to do with all these after, but I just love collecting them!  :)

  • Pics are in my bio! For each table, we're going to have a light grey runner (no linens, tables are dark wood) layered with vintage-feel world map paper. We're going to hav a combo of milk glass vases, vintage cut glass punch cups, and vellum-wrapped square candleholders. Our wedding is sort of an urban-vintage feel, so we're combining different elements!

Your post reminded me that I really need to find more vases! We need about 40 more :P
  • I love the look of wood tables.  However, I didn't see a single venue with them, and there's no way I could afford to rent them.  :(  We're settling for lace overlays to go with the soft, vintage feel.

  • OMG polichik!  Can I just hire you to finish my wedding?!  It all looks amazing!  I especially love your invitations!  I would love to have the creativity to make my own, but I'm just going to settle for the boring ones from a mass producer :(  Great job though!  I can't wait to see the actual pics from your big day!

I am collecting clear vases from rummage sales and spray painting them a glossy white. They will look the exact same as milk glass and for 25 cents a piece ya can't beat the price !! I'll use different sizes for the tables and my mom i's doing the flowers so I have no idea what she's picking.
