That wants the big wedding

with all the trimmings

but 1. thinks we should wait to plan until he gets me a ring

2. that a year is enough time to plan

3. it will just kind of magically happen

i love that yella man but he gonna make me strangle him before this is over lol

i think he is finally starting to get that we can not continue to wait....

That sounds like my FI. When we first said lets get married he wanted to start all the planning. Then because of my medical issues and some financal restrainsts we put a stop to it. Said too I want to get your ring to. You cant be going to vendors and no ring. So then a few months later HE said com'on babe lets get this wedding planning done. So me feeling like I still dont have my ring tho HE says you know its coming. So we been paying deps and no RING ! So to the point.. I think a year is plenty of time to plan. Cha did it in 6 months. Start keeping him involved with the cost of things and tell him to GET THAT RING ! I think im getting my thanksgiving..if not definitly for Xmas so a lil birdy as said.

Whats his hold up ? He is stressing over the finance part of it ? Because for a min I was especially about the food. Our food and bar is costing over 4k alone. My FI is like dont worry about it. But for a min I was stressing over it. Especially because money started to flow slow working at the shop.

Well tell him thats why we do things starting now and slow that way it wont seem so much at one time. What have you booked so far ? Im sure you've posted somethings but my mind is fried girl lol

booked nothing yet lol

we had a long talk last night

i told him that we have to come up with a realistic schedule etc and that we can not wait for him to get me this ring... which i think he is already paying on

we have got to move forward....

we moved our date back from 2013 to 2014.... so we will be booking the venue in the spring and the rest of the vendors then...

Are you gonna be diy alot of things ? What idea do you have for decor. If you are set on your colors and decor I say start buying that stuff now and store. That way it wont seem so much. Check the classified board from time to time. Ive already gotten some things from that board and it has saved me money. So far I havr spent 300 just on decor and I have 200 more to spend mainly for the ceremony I pretty much got ally recpetion decor. Its only so much my venue allows for me to dress it up. So if you are able to I say start there.

You KNOW I know how you feel. I had to get a placeholder before I started booking. Ring before we told others the date. 9 crazy months with him wanting this wedding...arrhhh. You are right about point 2 and 3.

So why not JP and ring now, wedding later?

UGHHH... you have one too!? I wanted to go to Vegas- just the 2 of us. He wanted the whole "production". So I put him on a budget $2500, when I did that things kind of backfired. He won't budge on "decor" and then for centerpieces he bought a bunch of them "christmas candles" you know the ones you put in a window for "loved ones to find their way home". I said what you gonna do with those? he says put them on the tables, I said- with what!? he said with themselves. WHAT DUDE.

we are doing a destination wedding so to speak so i am not trying to have a whole lot of decorations.... i have to see what the venue can provide cause i am not trying have to haul a bunch of crap from maryland to alabama....

yes i plan to do a lot of diy

i will be starting in Jan working on that stuff

The candles lmfao !!! In the past month I've had a groom zilla in 2010 when we got engaged I said we either fly to an island and get married or wait until 2013.... Well here we are and feeding 200 ppl isn't manna from the sky and look at whose all worked up about it

I can always depend on y'all for a good laugh. I don't have a ring yet either. And trust me I threw a major b..... Fit about it. My groomzilla told me to have patience because he has a plan. I think I'm nervous about this plan And dude what money are you about to spend? We have deposits we still need to pay.
