Card box

What is everyone making or buying to use as their card box?

I'm stumped on this one.  I really don't feel like making one but I also don't want to go spend a lot of money on something I'll only use this one time.

I was planning to go to Lowes and get a White Mail box. I will be  decorating it with seashells and fishnets to go with my beach theme. I thought the this would be a different idea than using a box and it's fairly inexpensive.

    Cute!

My idea for the longest time was to buy a mailbox and use that!  We just bought a house and I thought it would be great to use that for the wedding and then attach it at our new home.  However, the house was recently renovated and has a brand new mailbox installed.  I couldn't justify buying another one.

My H had the brilliant idea the week before the wedding to build a birdhouse to use.  No, he'd never built anything before in his life.  It drove him practically insane, but I loved the way it turned out :)

I don't have a final picture of it, he added a little doormat with our last name and made a sign that said CARDS to go on the porch roof like an old time store, but this is basically the finished product.

I have a picture frame box (kinda) that I'll give to you!  Its 4 frames screwed together to make a big square (the hardest part of the DIY).  I pulled the top and bottom off, so you would have to remake them.  Also one of the pieces of glass broke on the car ride home (it can be replaced).

This is what it looked like before...

I was planning to take them apart and just use the frames for regular pics, but just found out we are moving, so I don't want to take anything extra with us.  Email me at hilldog_3 at hotmail dot com if you want it.  I'll also throw in the white matting so you can use smaller pics like I did.

I am also doing the photo card box; I love it, I bought it off an old Knottie and it spins!

Hil, where are you moving to?  PM me!

I haven't made mine yet, but I got shoe boxes from work (I work at a department store) to reuse! I didn't want to buy boxes because they didn't even have the right sizes I wanted, and it's definitely more green! :) Good luck!
