Wanted Wednesday

Anything in particular you are looking for?  Maybe a local knottie can help you out.

Re: Wanted Wednesday

  • Anyone know of a place I can get an awesome wooden box that is large enough to hold a bottle of wine? I'm not happy with the stuff I'm finding online so far (either way too expensive or not big enough)

  • Anyone know where I can get a piece of wood with bark still attached to use as a cake stand?  I'm looking for one 12 - 16" in diameter and 2-3" thick.

If someone also has a down tree in the area that fits that diameter I'm also willing to take a chain saw and cut it if I can.

I ordered some wooden wine boxes a few years ago for my thesis online....  I think it was this site, <a href="http://www.spiritedshipper.com/shipper/" rel="nofollow">http://www.spiritedshipper.com/shipper/</a> . I ended up using them for promotional boxes that had stuff for a mini herb garden inside, but I ended up transferring a logo onto the side of the box with acetate.

    Hope this helps!

I don't but this part make me chuckle to myself :)  I can just picture you out in the woods with a chainsaw and your hair flapping in the wind behind you.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm looking for something a little fancier though. I want to do a wine box ceremony and I need a box that can also sort of be a decoration in our home after the wedding.

<div>True story: I think we're doing a wine box ceremony too! Have you looked on etsy yet? There are some cute, not so expensive options specifically for wine box ceremonies.</div><div>
</div><div>Depending on your style and your home's decor, have you thought about repurposing a vintage wooden milk, soda, cheese, fruit, or wine crate? There are some awesome vintage crates on etsy (found a few on the local Craigslist too) with beautiful logos and branding. You could DIY a wood top if the crate doesn't come with one. This one's a little short (<a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/87691472/vintage-wood-box-stamped-cheese-crate?ref=sr_gallery_33&sref=&ga_search_submit=&ga_search_query=crate&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=vintage&ga_facet=vintage" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">click</a>) but I love the idea of it.</div>
  • Also, try searching "box" under vintage items on etsy. Old hat boxes, shoe boxes, metal storage boxes, bread boxes, and more come up that could easily be repurposed as a wine box and look cool in your home.
  • I'm looking for LED tealights if anybody has some.  Also any unused white, blue or green unscented real tealights.
