Tell me about....

your ceremony!  What kinds of traditions, songs, etc will you be having?  Where are you getting married?

We are getting married in my church, the United Church of Christ (not saying which one, no stalker-like people kthx!). I'm still debating about which wedding songs I want played for the processional and recessional. I love Pachelbel's Canon in D for the brides to march in with, but i've also fallen in love with Bach Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (another really well known one). I know for the recessional I want to have Mendelssohn's Wedding March, a bit cliche but it's one that I've always wanted to hear at the end of my wedding. :) We'll probably have a unity candle, along with an intermission song of Schubert's Ave Maria as they are lit, one of me and FI's favorites. I'm still trying to work everything else out, I'm hoping that our ceremony isn't ridiculously long for everyone! :(

We are planning on having the ceremony at a park outside-weather permitting.

We are making it quick. Intro, vows, kiss, reception.

FI comes from a super religious family and we don't necessarily agree with all of their beliefs so we are just getting in and out so to speak when it comes to the ceremony.

At the Elms Resort.  The ceremony  will be held outside.  I have a guitarist (who is kinda a John Mayer type).  He will be playing songs as guests arrive and then I am unsure if he will do the ceremony music or if I will have the hotel do it.  The ceremony itself will be pretty quick but we are planning on writting our own vows.

Oh course weather permitting we will be having our short ceremony on the brick patio of our reception location. The ceremony will start at 4:30 and we hope to be eating dinner around 5:30 or 6 at the latest.

We are getting married at the Loose Park Rose Garden. Haven't really decided on music, but we have a PA system instead of a band/musician so I'm skeptical on how that all works. We will have it short and sweet, since our ceremony doesn't start until later and we don't want to make people wait too long to eat dinner. Since we had to wait so long to book, we haven't figured out much but it's def stressing me out!

We're getting married at Belvoir Winery.  Nothing too extravagent, kind of like RKnox88, in and out.  At first I wasn't going to do a Unity celebration of any sort, but now I'm thinking of doing a wine one.

The Elms is also where we're beginning our lives together :) I love the ballroom with the hardwood floors and flireplace!! It is a December wedding, so the fireplace in the lobby will come in handy as well for cocktails. The only song I have down for sure is for my processional: Michael W. Smith "Carol Ann" from his Freedom cd. I just adore the Beatles, so trying to get FI to approve Vitamin String Quartet's tribute to "She Loves You" for our recessional. No one will sing a solo or anything, but I hope to have some versus read... having trouble finding the not-so-typical wedding ones (ie 1 Cor 13). We will also have unity sand since we both grew up on and off beaches. Cocktails and repcetion to follow :)

We are having our wedding at the Embassy Suites-KCI in one of their ballroom's we thought about having it in the "garden area" of the lobby but I didn't want everyone and their brother watching our ceremony.  I think we are going to have 1 reading and maybe a song...haven't decided yet.
