A couple of questions...

Am I expected to tip the bartender, photographer, DJ or JP?  Are they expecting it?

Who gets a dinner? DJ or photographer?

I'm not sure on who gets tipped but for meals we're providing them for both photographers, the videographer, and the DJ

Ditto.  Our priest did not attend the reception.  And we tipped: photographer, DJ, ceremony coordinator, reception coordinator, altar girl, bridal assistant, hair/makeup artists, limo driver... I think that's it.  We did not tip the bartender since guests had been tipping throughout the night.
  • Ise there typical percentage for tipping those people?

  • I plan on feeding my 2 photographers, DJ, and Photobooth guy. Typically you aren't supposed to tip the photographer if it is the photographers company. I'm not sure if the same goes for DJs. And am I supposed to invite my JP (and their guest) to the reception? My ceremony is at the same site.

Ive heard if the DJ works for a company, then no tip. But if he is self-employed then do tip.
  • Read the contract for the DJ & Photographer. Ours stated that they have a "light meal" but they ate exactly what our guests had.

As far as the bartenders etc. if was also stated in our contract with our venue that all grats were included in our price.

  • Heather- I believe you are supposed to invite whoever marries you to the reception. I have no clue how accurate that is, though. I feel so weird sending an invitation to my reverend, I don't even know his address! (He's marrying us at a church where he is not a reverend).

I've heard if they own the business, you don't tip, but if they work for a company, you do. If this is the case, then most my vendors I'm not "supposed" to tip...as they are all independent/own the company....yikes...better look into that!

My DJ, Photographer, Day of Coordinator will all be getting meals at the reception.
  • My DJ and photographer will be getting meals.

I am under the impression that vendors who own their business don't get tips. So far, all of my vendors own their own businesses, so I don't plan on tipping anyone (unless they go extremely above and beyond and deserve it). We're also not getting a limo driver or DOC or anyone who's doing small tasks for us, but if I did I would tip a driver or DOC.
