Help! Need a venue!!

I am just recently engaged and I'm planning a wedding for this September (2011). I need to find a budget friendly venue ASAP! Anywhere in Gig Harbor, Tacoma, Seattle area... I would love outdoor/indoor capabilities and very budget friendly. Any help would be appreciated!

Welcome and congrats!  Since September is such a popular month to get married around here, I would suggest checking out this website:

They list some venues that still had availabilities.

Another one you may take a look at is Golden Gardens Bathhouse. It can be a little spendy depending on your budget and they only accomodate up to 125 inside, but it's on Golden Gardens Beach so indoor/outdoor is definitely a possiblity. :)

Wondering what you mean by budget-friendly as well.

I've found Blue Ribbon Cooking School to be relatively budget-friendly since they do everything but photography and DJ.  They also offer indoor/outdoor.  You can either use their outdoor area or a city park, which they set up for you (and it's included in the package).

I have about 160 people attending. I would love a place that, in total, for the venue (that includes tables, chairs, linens, etc.), food and beverage is under 10K. I LOVE Alderbrook, but it doesn't seem like they want to work with you too much to help reduce the price any.

I'm curious what they quoted to you as the last quote I got for a prime time summer wedding was just barely beneath your budget line I think. I would imagine a fall wedding would be less?

I loved the Alderbrook too, but I couldn't figure out how to transport my mostly out of town guests even further from Seattle.

They quoted me $2,000 for the venue on a Friday and the buffet starts at $55 per person for 140 guests. (I have 150 at the least) And that doesn't include beverage.

Ah. For reference, I was quoted 3k for a Saturday July wedding with a minimum of 100 guests for a plated dinner and at least 65 dollars of food/bev spent on each head. But those were also last year's prices so I guess things went up this year. :(

I have no real suggestions. I'd heard good things about Kiana Lodge when some of my vendors heard I was thinking of the Alderbrook as an alternative, but I think that might be way too far out for the area you're looking for.

I agree with parks recommendations, there are lots of parks around where you can get married that are very budget friendly.
