Invite Problems - Vent

I found yesterday that one of my cousins never received her invitation! I mailed them out over 3 weeks ago and I have her correct address. No idea why she didn't get it! Since that started getting me worried, I decided to send out an email to those people I have not received response cards from or heard from at all to see if they actually did receive their invitation.

So far, one of my friends has emailed me back saying she didn't receive hers either!

This is really stressing me out now, as we don't have that many extra invites left. I mailed all of the invites out together at one time at the post office, it makes no sense why some people haven't received theirs when I know that majority of people have gotten theirs!!

I don't need this extra stress! Has this happened to anyone else??

That's really strange. I know some of my postcard STDs got lost (or frozen in the snow) but I can't imagine the post office losing an invitation!

That has happened to me with the STDs too.  I think people are just careless with their mail considering the amount of junk we get.  I actually called my MOH because I didn't get her baby shower invitation a few months ago.  Guess what I found two weeks later under a stack of bills that got filed?  I'm just saying it's more likely than the postman has been losing invitations left and right.

I know, I never imagined that the post office would lose invitations either! It really makes no sense, especially since we know that at least 75% of the invites did make it to their destination!

This same situation happened to us.  But it happens to be that we had extras.  After I sent her the new invite she recieved them bot...so we have no idea what happened to the original one that we sent her.

The only thing I can think of is not enough postage maybe?  I thought on mine I'd need double but when I asked the post office guy he said it would require TRIPLE postage!  I was shocked!  Worse is I had ordered custom stamps which cost double to begin with.  Although if there wasn't enough postage wouldn't it come back to you?  I don't know, but good luck and I hope it works out!  =o)

I really don't think the postage is the problem, considering I went to 3 separate post offices to verify how much postage I would need! And you're right, it would come back to me if there wasn't enough postage and I haven't received any invitations back. Plus, I know that at least 75% of the invitations were received and they all had the same amount of postage on them!

same thing happened to us... we were thinking possibly due to the weather up north since the invitiations that were never received were for people in PA and MD... its frustrating!!!

I had the same problem!!!!  I have now found out three invitations that are MIA.  One of them I re-sent, and she received it today.  The other I hand delivered, and one I am re-sending tomorrow.

I don't have a lot of extra invitations as well!  I'm starting to worry about it, but my Wedding Planner said that it actually happens to most brides!  I'm hoping to at least get some of mine back so I can re-use the invitations!

That is pretty disconcerting that your wedding planning says it happens to most brides!  Guess the post office isn't as reliable as I thought it was! I am resending the 2 MIA invites out tomorrow as well. I'm thinking about getting delivery confirmation on them this time, so I know that they get there!

If you don't have enough to re-send I would personally just start calling people or emailing people and explain the situation.
