Maine has the best board. Period.

So I just have to say how much I enjoy each of you on this posting board. I've been really unimpressed with other boards where people just seem so self-righteous. Thank you Maine Board Brides for being so thoughtful, considerate and nice!

Definitely agree with this one.  While I have found that my month board is pretty kind, there are some that just don't understand that some wedding things are regional and what is frowned upon in some places is completely the norm in others.

Agreed,  Even thought it's not as busy, we still have a lot of active girls with great advice.

This thread just confirms my feelings more - you gals are the best!

Re: Jpickering's reply - I've posted on some boards where it's obvious that they don't even read the post, but just start spouting off rules that don't necessarily apply to the question. I appreciate the Maine board's acceptance and understanding, but most of all the heartfelt replies and suggestions.

I know what you mean about posting without reading the responses, and it drives me bonkers.  I know it can be helpful to see that mutliple posters are giving the same advice, but you can at least quote someone and say "I agree" instead of posting in your own little world.  It's like talking to hear yourself talk, but it's on the internet, which means I really don't get why anyone needs to type to see themselves type.

Hear hear!  I agree with all PP's - it's nice to come to a place and announce "We can't afford an open bar so we're doing a cash bar" and not get trampled by etiquette police.  Thanks for being normal, down-to-earth, brides-to-be.  :)

I agree ;) Really though, people think answers in an etiquette book can solve everything, not to mention you have to follow it word for word. I'll be the first to tell you, things aren't always black and white! There's lots of gray and I shouldn't get chewed out for acknowledging that.

Some of the girls on the other boards are down right rude, and nasty in their replies when someone asks a simple question! Glad we can have a real discusion on this borad and not worry about being put down and feeling dumb!
